Also got a similar drop on quite a few games but I checked today and I believe it’s back to normal
Another day, another silent algorithm change that gives a massive middle finger to roblox developers. I’ve been begging on my knees to at least get a of transparency on algorithm changes for the past 2 years, but obviously to no avail.
Really disappointing to see these harmful algo tests/‘updates’ still occurring in 2025–for many people, this is their main source of income & it should not be this volatile & unfair for no reason. very discouraging as a new developer.
Hello
The same thing happened with the Home Recommendations for my game (The Space Simulator) on that date:
Thats good to hear now my games are showing up
I dont want this to get fixed
Can confirm this happened tho
This also seems to be happening with my game too. It started after the outage occurred. And on normal weekdays, My game averages around 100 to 200 CCU. But now for my game I get 100 to 150 in active hours for weekdays.
I’m sure they may eventually be fixed, but as of now a lot of games have been severely impacted by this outage meaning there will be less players online so stats will decline for 50%+ of games.
Same here, I even thought my game was broken because the players drop happened suddenly
Same, my qptr and home reccomendations dropped significantly (6% qptr to 1.45%), (1k+ ccu to 175+ ccu). Will any fix be provided?
Seems they’ve fixed it somewhat. Still, the stats are not quite as good as before! - Compared to last friday, we don’t even surpass 100 CCU.
My game’s ccu has recovered (from 75-100 ccu to 200+), but still nowhere near where it was before (1k+ ccu)
Hi Creators, thank you for flagging these concerns.
We are conducting an investigation into the issue and will report back here in the coming days with our analysis and guidance. We hear you and appreciate your patience!
Thanks so much for this. It’s not often we hear back from engineers on issues like these
Thank you for the swift response! All of my games have recovered now but I’m still very curious to know what caused this.
Hi Creators,
We’ve identified a recent bug that was impacting home page recommendations for some experiences. We identified and resolved the issue on February 5th. You should now see your impressions stabilize. Thank you for reporting this issue!
The bug specifically affected an input signal in our recommendation algorithm related to recently visited games, potentially impacting visibility on February 4th and 5th.
We know how important accurate recommendations are for your game’s discoverability, and we apologize for the inconvenience and confusion this may have caused.
Thanks for your patience as we worked to fix this!
Are you all quite sure? It’s definitely improved from what was going on on 3rd, 4th, and 5th, but home recommendations still seem very low. In November my game was getting 50,000 to 80,000 home recommendations and that dropped all the way down to 3,000 to 4,000 during the 3rd, 4th, and 5th, as of yesterday has only improved to around 10,000, which I can really feel considering it is 5 to 8 times lower than what it was just a few months ago. It just seems that whatever algorithm is controlling home recommendations seems very random. Going as far back as I can on the “New Users With Impressions Per Source” graph, my game’s search impressions are also way down compared to 2024.
