The thing is, back then the captcha wasn’t everywhere nor was it so complex to solve. So many captcha puzzles are hard to solve or outright broken, as in, I select the right image when it thinks I’ve clicked the wrong one. This is far from a bad user experience, its a terrible one, one that’s pushing me, a 5 year veteran, off the platform, along with the lack of good games being made.
“more intuitive for kids”
despite the fact recent puzzles are outright BROKEN and very hard to solve without being “too slow” because apparently bots should be slow, when in reality bots would be fast and humans would be slow, it shouldn’t make slow people (who are most likely human) repeat the captcha.
its a very broken system and it shouldn’t even display for anyone who is a veteran and has a verified email, let alone a premium subscription.
I find that from someone who travels regularly (before, you know) and uses a lot of public wifi or a lot of IP address changes that I would constantly get around 10 puzzles, sometimes more I don’t know.
Even as of now this needs to be fixed.
I’m 19 and I sometimes fail at it, imagine a 9 year old or younger trying.
All that needs to be done is that Roblox lower the difficulty of it.
HCaptcha is also a good alternative. I use it on my website and it works well. I have also seen other services using it.
In canada, the captchas are a little easier. Theres no more time limit, so you can take as much time as you want.
The issue with hcaptcha is that you can be given a cookie that will be sent with your captcha request that will literally let you bypass the captcha. Of course it is for disability reasons–it can easily be abused.
This is ridiculous. They can simply remove the captcha, and when a user tries to create an account, a message will appear stating that the user needs to verify their email address and when the user completes the verification then the user can continue on the roblox website.
Also, these days when I enter my details to log in to my account or create a new account, it doesn’t ask me to verify a Captcha, it just puts me in to the account.
I think Roblox is trying to do something about this problem.
do you use a VPN
…
tbh me using vpn eases captcha for me, if i use regular network i get 10, but when i use vpn, i get only 2
i wonder why…
email verification is super easy to automate
Yes the current puzzles indeed have problems and they should be fixed.
However funcaptcha is still the best option.
Though I agree with you that the captcha has a lot of problems which should be fixed
I don’t know if it’s only happening to me or for other people also, but the roblox captcha is literally blocking me access to roblox studio, I want to make a post about that but I can’t, and this is the only post that is kind of relevant.
Basically I think there’s 2 problems:
in a javascript from roblox (rbxcdn i’m 99% sure it’s from them) where when I try to log in, it runs the code, but fails and sends this message :
when I click on ‘yes’ or ‘no’ it sends me a captcha, and when I finish it says it’s unable to connect to roblox servers.
This is really frustrating because I wanted to make some progress on my game while I still have some free time left and now I can’t because of these 2 problems.
I already sent a ticket to roblox support but they usually take around 3 days so rip
EDIT: I tried with another computer ( in 4G LTE just to be sure it’s not my internet ) and it has the same problem ( javascript error)
Studio version on both PCs :
Weird. I live in Canada and never get captchas but it could be the algorithm detects something on your network as “bot activity”
I am getting this error too. however if I click “Yes” the captcha works correctly.
oh ok at least i’m not alone, but it seems that there’s a lot of different behaviors, one member from a social msg app said that he got the same error but then he just had to click ‘yes’ and he has no captcha
I’m so confused
Somehow i still can’t login tho
I experienced a nightmare. The FunCAPTCHA started popping up, and it was absolute nuts.
Well at least I passed the challenge
Because the captcha Roblox uses right now is the best one for their business.
My internet sucked and it was so lagging that I had to use a VPN, which reduced the lag.
Two reasons why people don’t like VPNs:
-
Impossible CAPTCHAs
-
Preventing you from editing Wikipedia
Yep, most people are having CAPTCHA problems, calling it ‘Impossible Captcha’
But what’s more of a problem. Just compare to the ‘Impossible scam spotting’, it has the System message to trick people into a System message. Noobs don’t care but more advanced people does. But the good thing, if scammers make a typo on {System}, they get caught.
I often struggle really badly with these captchas. I’m a fully grown, developmentally disabled adult, and I’ve had to ask literal children for help on multiple occasions.
It’s really discouraging, and embarrassing. These captchas are not accessible. There’s no audio option, no way to roll for a different captcha, and they’re often dependent on timed tasks that can be impossible for folks with certain disabilities, with a limited grasp of English, or other traits.
I get why they might not want to use reCAPTCHA, but something’s gotta change. These do nothing against bots and serve only to frustrate users, just like the clothing upload fee. Meh.
