I have visited a few non-roblox sites I used a bit using FunCaptcha but never this bad.

it USED to stop bots in 2018 when added but they started again in early 2019

Github is one of them, I have used it, and it wasnât as tedious as Roblox is having, only 2 times.

I have just had an idea of why Arkose Labs (Robloxâs Captcha system) fails miserably often. Itâs because Roblox has way too many users. Roblox, as of writing this, has over 1.8 million active users. But thatâs only people in games. Think about the millions more that are navigating pages, and being presented with a Captcha. This level of activity surely does a toll on Arkoseâs delivery of solid Captchas to Roblox servers, which have been shown to be consistently stressed. Then, all the data from Captchas has to send to the Roblox servers, and then back to Arkose. In Googleâs Captcha system, they track mouse movements. That is (among other things) probably a component of Arkoseâs, too. All this data being sent out creates garbage Captchas that are computed poorly.
solution: force funcap on signup/login, then let user pick if preferred captcha (re/h/fun) in user settings
arkose does not track mose, and even then, what the hell? roblox has 1.8mil users â roblox produces money from users â roblox pays who they need to pay (including arkose). itâs not like massive overload makes captchas corrupt, but yeah, it might trigger some anti-abuse at peak hours.
What Iâm saying is that the limited server space at Arkose assigned to Roblox is being stressed out, so computations are slower and innacurate.
Roblox DID use googles captcha and it did not prevent anything!
Besides googles captcha collects a lot of data and would certainly violate COPPA.
Roblox did use ReCaptcha V3 before FunCaptcha was introduced and bots broke it left to right.
You might think ReCaptcha is very secure but youâd be very wrong. There are thousands of ReCaptcha solving services on the internet with really cheap prices. You can even get browser extensions for solving ReCaptcha (I have even one installed right now).
Also some adblockers block ReCaptcha which would result in broken webpages.
When Roblox introduced FunCaptcha it was a huge blow to bots.
Funcaptcha is the most effective weapon againts scam bots. FunCaptcha is really hard for AI to solve. The only most reliable way to bypass FunCaptcha is to have a human solve it (most bots use this method).
ReCaptcha is also paid for big websites hence it is also more economical for Roblox to use FunCaptcha. Also FunCaptcha is more intuitive for kids than ReCaptcha which has boring pictures with a lot of noise.
All in all FunCaptcha is the best option Roblox has and it is effective againts bots.

I found a temporary fix for this: use a VPN. I change the VPN country to USA, and when I login, I get prompted only one captcha.

The thing is, back then the captcha wasnât everywhere nor was it so complex to solve. So many captcha puzzles are hard to solve or outright broken, as in, I select the right image when it thinks Iâve clicked the wrong one. This is far from a bad user experience, its a terrible one, one thatâs pushing me, a 5 year veteran, off the platform, along with the lack of good games being made.

despite the fact recent puzzles are outright BROKEN and very hard to solve without being âtoo slowâ because apparently bots should be slow, when in reality bots would be fast and humans would be slow, it shouldnât make slow people (who are most likely human) repeat the captcha.
its a very broken system and it shouldnât even display for anyone who is a veteran and has a verified email, let alone a premium subscription.
I find that from someone who travels regularly (before, you know) and uses a lot of public wifi or a lot of IP address changes that I would constantly get around 10 puzzles, sometimes more I donât know.
Even as of now this needs to be fixed.
Iâm 19 and I sometimes fail at it, imagine a 9 year old or younger trying.
All that needs to be done is that Roblox lower the difficulty of it.
HCaptcha is also a good alternative. I use it on my website and it works well. I have also seen other services using it.

In canada, the captchas are a little easier. Theres no more time limit, so you can take as much time as you want.

The issue with hcaptcha is that you can be given a cookie that will be sent with your captcha request that will literally let you bypass the captcha. Of course it is for disability reasonsâit can easily be abused.
This is ridiculous. They can simply remove the captcha, and when a user tries to create an account, a message will appear stating that the user needs to verify their email address and when the user completes the verification then the user can continue on the roblox website.
Also, these days when I enter my details to log in to my account or create a new account, it doesnât ask me to verify a Captcha, it just puts me in to the account.
I think Roblox is trying to do something about this problem.

tbh me using vpn eases captcha for me, if i use regular network i get 10, but when i use vpn, i get only 2

Yes the current puzzles indeed have problems and they should be fixed.
However funcaptcha is still the best option.
Though I agree with you that the captcha has a lot of problems which should be fixed
