I can also confirm this as I sometimes get impossible captcha when logging in, My friends as well tell me that they are also getting captcha puzzles that are too hard for them to solve.
Time to ditch FunCaptcha, Roblox.
Switch to reCaptcha by Google. Itâs way more friendly to use and it does a good job with blocking bots.
Stop ignoring this captcha problem. Lots of people have trouble with this, and none of the issues were addressed since this bug report was made.
Roblox used to use reCaptcha, but it was dropped due to bots easily bypassing it. (If I recall correctly.)
In that case, why does the majority of popular websites use reCaptcha instead of FunCaptcha?
PayPal uses reCaptcha, all google services use it and enough other services. The most fun part? They donât have a big bot issue like Roblox has.
FunCaptcha doesnât work, the majority of new users are scam bots. Look at the terrible in-game chats of front-page games, all full of bots. Great job, FunCaptcha!
FunCaptcha, specialized in blocking humans and letting bots go though.
It is ultimately pointless discussion to compare captcha solutions if you donât have objective data to rank them by. Only Roblox can make that value proposition by themselves. For all you know, you could be entirely wrong and FunCaptcha is actually more effective at blocking malicious traffic. Nobody here has the numbers.
I recommend sticking to relevant discussion, about how it impedes your UX, since this is actionable feedback.
Whoever wrote this captcha should be fired
This captcha doesnât work
Seriously, is this your âsolutionâ for bots?
How is a 6 year old kid supposed to make an account on this way? This captcha has a time limit.
Even I canât solve it. GG Roblox and Arkose Labs! Youâre ruining our UX with these stupid and not-working captchas. They donât work, your platform is full of scam bots.
Look at the replies on this thread, I didnât see any positive post about the captcha Roblox uses.
Itâs clear that FunCaptcha strongly disturbes our User Experience on Roblox.
I was suggestion other captcha solutions because Roblox has FunCaptcha now for a few years and still doesnât work (well, some small improvements are made but it still disturbed my and otherâs UX).
Itâs correct that I donât have objective data, I was commenting out of frustration and my experience with other captcha solutions (like Googleâs reCaptcha).
I got this one too. I had to solve 6 of those in under a minute. Thatâs ridiculous. How is anybody under 10 supposed to solve? I canât even solve it that quickly! Iâm tired of this. This is terrible. Why not use reCaptcha? Or hCaptcha?
Yesterday, I was trying to buy Robux and I had that same captcha, but half of it was cut off. It was broken. I had to find a way to do it on mobile instead. Even if it was working, I probably wouldnât be able to do it since it seems pretty hard from these posts.
Iâm not saying this is not the case or that I did not read previous responses on the thread. Please read my previous post again, my point is only that itâs pointless to compare to other captcha technologies in terms of effectiveness of stopping malicious traffic.
Iâve had to do an insane amount of captchas due to having a personal VPN on my network, and all I can say is this: why? Itâs ludacris, having to select die that add up to 14 or click on cubes with split icons when NOT EVEN THE ENTIRE CUBE HAS SPLIT ICONS (probably a bug but I donât think Iâm allowed to post about bugs anymore lol). It makes me do 5-7 captchas every time, and some of them donât even make any sense. Like the one with the object and the shadows; some of them have more than one or none at all. Iâm honestly disappointed with these new captchas. If I can barely do it as a 16 year old, and have found loads of other people who can barely do it as well, how do you expect robloxâs target audience of kids (like 6-12) to do this? Itâs impossible.
Edit: Yeah, maybe it stops scam bots from happening, but at what cost? how is an 8 year old supposed to make an account, and how is he supposed to play? Cant get through captchas = no account = no playing
Captcha doesnât seem to be stopping bots from creating accounts.
How do I even do this?
I dont get it?
The one where the icon isnât full, for example in this image, is the first one. This is excessively complicated, though
Update: This one seems like a new one, and as you see below, hunting for the correct answer is very difficult; itâs hidden and hard to see.
I can also agree with this bug. It needs to be resolved. The maximum I have had is 14 and I live in Scotland on an iMac.
PayPal needs personal info to sign up for
Google services sometimes need phone verification to sign up for
Now compare that to Roblox, that has the signup API publicly available, and needs only an username, a password and a birthday.
I think this form of captcha should be removed. It recently took me 5 tries just to get into a group (25 rotations I went through) â not exactly an ideal user experience haha.
Not to forget the fact, most of captcha systems pop up if you either have almost none or no cookies and similar, or if you have a ton of them. Consider the fact a child might either be on some device with restrictions and might so the browser reset the cookies etc. for child safety. On other side, those ones who go in every website and accept all cookies, will have the same problem. And yeah, I agree that the captcha you got is really hard
