Yes, Roblox does use it, but they don’t own it. What I’m asking here is: how does Roblox control something that they don’t own?

He means that Roblox had the choice of picking to use it. They can also stop using it, or at least communicate with them to lower the difficulty of it. Let’s not turn this into a debate.

I’ve seen Arkose Labs on other sites. It worked perfectly fine when I used it several times. Yet, Roblox consistently has impossible or difficult captchas the majority of the time.

This is getting ridiculous now, It says complete 5 but then it got increased to 9 and it’s getting annoying now, Roblox needs some fixes right now

apparently a verified email, 4+ years veteran account that has non-regular active hours (human-like activity, not a robot that comes on at a pre-set time), and a literal premium subscription (used to be TBC) means that I cannot post on group walls. Oh did I mention that I have a rare colour blindness disorder that means it takes me atleast 15 mins to even get HALF of them right? Literally derogatory and discriminative towards people with such vision impairments Roblox, well done.
Two years later and they can’t even make clearly real people exempt from the captcha

I agree, Its literally so stupid. I’m on practically daily working in studio and playing games and I still get hit with a stupid captcha everywhere I go on the site.

reCaptcha exists
Why does Roblox not use this. This is stuff developed by the largest tech companies in the world, designed to keep out bots and detect humans. WHY are they not using it???

It costs money to use a popular high quality service. They have to pay recaptcha for each request

i think this happens if you dont login too often in your account or in roblox in general and they give you very hard ones, dont really know if there is any way to stop this for ever unless roblox decides it
This happens so many times to me and its so annoying and frustuating and i sometimes just close roblox because of this

Additionally, ReCaptcha is not a very good method of preventing bots from roaming your site as seen on YouTube, hence why many different large companies have switched to HCaptcha or something else over the past year.

The reason captchas are getting harder is that bots are getting better at solving captchas. I suggest watching Vox’s video on that.
The sad part is, there are still tons of bots on the Roblox website.

Why give people math problems on a timer? It’s not uncommon to find people that do math poorly under pressure. I nearly just got locked out of my account because of this.
Edit: Tried logging into another account of mine, and the more I do this, the more it feels like some kind of sick joke rather than a security measure. Imagine if a little kid tried making an account and got this nonsense.

funny this problem is still going on and is being ignored by roblox, when i log into my alt to have 2 players to test this thing out of studio, i sometimes get these and even if i do it clearly correctly it still tells me its wrong (no extensions)

For me i get really long captchas when joining a group… It just keeps increasing

Roblox made Captcha very hard now, every time i post something on the wall, it always shows up as I don’t want to be asked multiple times

I must click 10 or more images right, i don’t use VPN.
They should just stop using the Arkose Labs captcha.
I think Outlook uses the Arkose Labs captcha, i have never had any issues there.

I can only assume the captcha’s difficulty is dependent on if it thinks you’re displaying suspicious activity, (I.E you’re logging in from a weird IP address, browser, etc).
For those who were on Roblox roughly a year ago, bots flooded every popular game, spamming scam websites or malicious websites in general by somehow bypassing roblox’s (unfortunately) bad chat filter. I’d much rather have to deal with spending 2-3 minutes max on a captcha then have to deal with that nightmare again.

The intended tradeoff seems to be bad user experience or having bots.
The actual tradeoff is a bad user experience while still having bots. I have not noticed an overall drop in bots since this captcha was implemented. Maybe the analytics say something different?
Point is this isn’t stopping bots, and the user experience sucks. If that’s not a red flag, I don’t know what is.
