Improve the Smooth Tool in the Terrain Editor

As a Roblox developer, it is currently harder than it should be to smooth out smooth terrain. This has been addressed many times before me, but it is yet to be changed. I thought I should revive the topic.

It is widely known that when you used the smooth tool, it is more likely to do the exact opposite of smoothing. The one thing it does do good at is removing floating terrain. In case you are unaware of the smooth tools actions, here are 2 before pictures.

As you can see, it was not ideal. To show what i would expect, I am going to give an example from Blenders smooth tool in sculpt mode.

I did triangulate the faces. As you can see, the smooth is wonderful. It does what you would think. If I were to keep smoothing, it would be flattened.

I would like to address some potential responses. I have tried many different combinations of shape, strength, and size, but none of them produce good results. I am not looking for alternative terrain methods. I do know that using erode and grow can smooth better, but that it is the issue – it takes way longer than it needs to. IF the reason that the tool acts like this in studio is to retain some of the terrains original position, then I would ask for an alternative smooth tool, or the ability to hold shift to actually smooth.

Lastly I would like to say that smooth terrain needs a revamp. An entire upgrade. There are many other things that could be improved. Some of these include water transparency underwater, smooth tool, and size limits for regions/brushes. I think fixing the smooth tool would be a great first step.
