Infection Mystery: Please give us some feedback!

*Note - I am in no way comparing or belittling Murder Mystery, as I am only inputting my opinion on our recent project: Infection Mystery.

I am a huge believer in the ‘Gamification of Education’ - a theory in education where learners can learn best when they are also having fun. Many Robloxians learn lessons by playing the vast majority of games, and I wanted to take this opportunity to shed light on current world issues.

In our project Infection Mystery, players simulate an “Infection” in light of the unfortunate pandemic. To ensure that we have the proper message spread, as well as not violating any of the Roblox Terms of Service - We collaborated with the Centers for Disease Control, as well as the Medical University in the country we are based. With ongoing conversations with these organizations - We have and will continue to receive feedback to ensure we deliver the most accurate and credible information. We will, however, not mention any real-world events or statistics to ensure we are following the Terms of Service and respecting it to its fullest - removing all aspects of horrifying real-world events.

Our PURPOSE of the game isn’t to PROMOTE/INCENTIVE kids to COUGH at people.

Rather, it is the DIRECT Opposite. To simulate a pandemic we unfortunately need a role to serve as Patient 0.

However, it is the goal for CIVILIANS (MOST OF THE PLAYERS IN GAME) to KEEP THEIR MASKS ON, AVOID CROWDS, and follow pandemic protocals as suggested by our sponsored organizations to ensure they do NOT get infected.

They will go around the map by themselves keeping social distance, wearing masks and collects parts. With the parts they need to create a vaccine to win the game.

Maybe all of you were misinformed by my words and that I apologize. However, the main purpose of this game is to simulate the reasons to why one should keep their masks on and follow rules to prevent infections from spreading.

Although the game is in its early stages including a shed load of bugs - Our Development Team is trying our best to make sure we deliver the best simulation that accurately depicts our intentions. We started 9 months ago brand new to UI Development, 3d Modelling, and Programming. Self-Taught - This is our project: Infection Mystery.

Please give us some constructive criticism, as well as any feedback possible!

I think the game has a bad concept to release, at least right now. I remember ROBLOX removed some games awhile back because of this, I don’t know if that’s still happening.

Edit: Try making it a zombie thing or something like that.

I can’t actually play the game since it requires two or more persons, I assume, but based on your description the game seems to be lacking skill depth, since it sounds like players will just be chasing each other around - which will get boring fast. Also, if this is your first game it won’t likely be the next “Murder mystery”, but a great learning opportunity.

i don’t really like it because… its basically mm2. what is in here that isn’t in mm2?

Also I just briefly reviewed community rules and your game may be in violation of rule #10 but that’s likely up to the interpretation of any moderator that might review the game.

We have received similar feedback. However, we try to engender that mystery system since it has been generally acceptable by the Roblox Community. We also have task systems, Mask Systems, and various other activities in game! Make sure to check them out.

Thank you for your feedback. I hope you have a good day/night.

Well actually you kind of talked about it here.

I feel a game like this is a bit inappropriate to release right now, community rules #10 also might prohibit a game like this. I’ve heard of games being taken down for having a similar concept.

If you are trying to do this off of real world events then it is against ToS. This happened when the American election occurred, pieces of text such as Trump was censored.

LOL, I don’t believe you for five seconds. Where’s the proof for this claim?

You have to remove all mentions of real world events. There was a coughing simulator game or something and that was highly hated despite the owners supposedly giving money to charity.

(just don’t make a game inspired by real world events at all)

Anything related to COVID like this can get taken down.

Yep, definitely profiting off of a this current situation

I don’t know about it. The game covers a really sensitive topic and people might not want to play the game. I myself, wouldn’t, since the current pandemic has destroyed many people psychologically and physically.

nice idea. haven’t played the game so idk how the concept is going. so many butt hurt people bugging out over this, try instead of coughing, add a bar that fills up if you are next to somebody long enough. when it fills up they get infected.

I never said anything even close to this. So saying “quote ‘a copy’” is gross misuse of quotes since I never said those words…

I’m sorry, maybe you just aren’t aware of this, but this games does indeed break the ToS.

and the rule here:

I did try to play your game. Here’s some screenshots for anyone interested:

speaking of “shot”

I’d like to play further but the teleport doesn’t work.

They’ve been standing here for the past 10 minutes.

Please – make any other game! There are so many possibilities with Roblox, but this game just isn’t one of them.

You are completely missing the point. So if this was a console game it would be bad, but oh it’s just a lego game so it’s fine.

Quick question, why does the icon say “infection simulator” but the game’s name is “infection mystery”?

Oh really, an agency that sees over disease control for one of the worlds largest country (in power and value), has collaborated with a small time roblox developer making there first game?

:joy: Yeah right, collaborated with the CDC, and how exactly?

I like this idea! But maybe instead of purposely coughing on people, you don’t know you have and you have to wear proper face masks and you randomly cough and give it to people. This would teach kids to avoid large groups during the pandemic. Other then that, great game! Good luck and I will be trying it out!

He told you…

He knows that it’s relating to current events, it’s an educational game about said events.

The concept violates rule #10 of community rules regardless of it’s educational value.

Yes – We reached out via Email to receive guidance.

We pitched our project proposal and received guidance to ensure the information we project is accurate to representing the “prevention” of an infection rather than misrepresenting.

We wouldn’t be mentioning any organizations if we didn’t work with any of them.

That is an excellent idea! We appreciate that suggestion and we will definitely consider it!

Hope you have a good day/night
