Looks promising! Definitely submit it if you hit any post release speedbumps, or want help with growing beyond whatever initial success you achieve. This show will hopefully continue for a long time, so we’ll be there if you need us
Looks great for the newer developers, where sometimes really amazing games pop up! Unfortunately there’s always an investment that has to be made, . Hopefully Developer SOS will motivate developers to just develop and not really focus on the money
How do you monetize this project? Do you fund it from your own money? What are your revenue generation plans?
The originally my plan was to self fund, but already I’ve gotten generous offers from other devs to subsidize the payouts!
As to monetizing this project, for now it’s something I’m going to do because I enjoy it. Maybe one day we’ll consider a revenue option, but only way that’ll happen is if we amp up production quality like with legit sets and stuff to reflect the increased cost and hours put into it.
Don’t you think it will be more fitting to change the date to the weekend at an earlier time. Say if someone from Europe wants to join in on this, it will be already late late and most likely sleeping. I myself is EST but it is important to keep in mind of the other time zones. Also, Wednesday is a school night as well, people might have to study for test or exams and maybe finish projects and homework. I am excited for this idea! I just suggest make those few changes.
This is really an awesome opportunity and I highly suggest players who are wishing to kickstart their game to participate! I might participate because I need to advertise my game once it’s ready
Thank you for doing this fantastic idea. This will save a lot of small projects and increase the success of small developers! I am really glad to see this.
Very good idea and very nice to do, I have started making a “big” game and I’m afraid when I’m done that no one will play it so I’m looking forward to developer SOS ! Also I was wondering if we can submit “beta version” games (that are entirely working but lacking in content ) or should we only submit complete game (you say “game that’s been released” but do you count beta as “released”) ?
Unfortunately there will almost always be people who it’s inconvenient for - as to why I didn’t go with the weekend it’s because I try to not work on the weekends (work life balance and all that). If we get enough of an international following though an episode or two set for our overseas audiences in a more accessible time zone is certainly an option!
Well, I won’t give them the robux until they make the suggested changes to their game, but admittedly after that point I don’t have a way to really enforce it, just cross my fingers and hope they believe in their game as much as I do!
Hmm, well the main standard is that it has to be publicly playable - doesn’t necessarily need to be the final version of your vision. Excited to play it!
I get to make a fun stream haha, I also hope to open a game dev school in central america at some point, and this allows me to get practice teaching and helping new devs!
