Yeah, roblox has always been kind of strange about rolling out updated in the past year… They never really precise a lot about who is getting access first.
It’s definitely not completely to do with your DevForum account. Maybe some mix of regular forum members and whatever roblox considers to be ‘successful’ devs since I don’t have Regular and I know plenty of others who have barely ever posted and got access.
I’ve been waiting for something made officially by roblox. Discord servers have been really crappy. Can’t wait to see what’s inside!!
Maybe some requirements are using the Developer Exchange system recently, have a certain amount of visits, being invited to the Roblox Developers Conference, or being popular on Twitter.
What’s the point of testing something in beta for months just to test it again?
The 300 character count for the bio is too small. Linkedin lets you put 2,000 characters in your bio. I think adopting something similar before the release would be good.
Totally agree with Ninja_Deer here. We should have a much higher character limit to allow for more detailed descriptions and information on our experiences and individual skillsets.
The character limit was my only dislike so far to be honest.
Please consider working on this in the future!
I’m pretty excited to see where all this leads, hopefully it won’t turn out to be a failure like the Collaboration category which was flooded by scammers/dead-end jobs.
But I suppose Roblox is aware of that and is trying to keep the Talent Hub from being Collaboration V2.
I do hope we know more about the Talent Hub requirements as time goes on, I wouldn’t want to find problems on launch day after all the hype.
Also, we should have a better character count once we get access to it, a system that’s similar to Linkedin would be vital for commissioners like myself.
This sounds really cool and interesting, but the PIN part it a bad Idea because most people use that PIN to keep their account from being stolen by hackers on the website.
Love the idea, however, like many others said, the “parental pin” is used for more than just a parental controls thing. There should be seperate pins, or don’t even make that a factor at all with the Talent Hub. Just make it 13+ only, since it seems that you are opening it to all ages.
Personally, I don’t like working with unprofessional little kids, that can be quite immature and hard to work with. (No offense)
It says “parental pin”. Account pin is totally different.
My talent hub profile has this warning sign on it and it seems no one else has it.
what does it mean
am i wanted by the fbi?!?!!
As mentioned about 20 times,
Account PIN = Parental PIN as mentioned by staff multiple times.
Then why call it something else?
Well I wish I could tell you but I am not any of the 100s of engineers employed by Roblox.
Have been able to repro this. I’ll see what I can gather and will probably end up making a bug report on it?
Two questions
-
Will users without the ability to post on talent hub be able to view talent hub?
-
Can we apply for access if we are not “Regular” level forum members? It is concerning that Roblox has completely paused for quite a long time any way to progress on the forum and gain access to collaberation or other sections of the forum. I understand there are a large amount of unqualified users but how will those qualified gain access?
This is amazing! it looks a lot more clean and organized than what we currently have.
I have a few questions though:
-
Will the 'Find Creators 'section of the talent hub work the same way as the portfolio section we have currently?
-
And will there be moderation to check the credibility of people who are hiring?
Amazing! The Talent Hub was something I was really looking forward. I saw the screenshots and it’s literally the Developers’ Paradise. Exactly what I was dreaming. The Talent Hub will solve most of the problems Developers have. Just one question: I’m not a regular, I’m a member, so will I be able to access the Talent Hub on 15th August and after?
They will allow access to everyone on September 1, which I’m guessing from how they will shut down the collaboration category.
I read that most people will gain access on 15th August, but I don’t know if members will.
