Welcome to the DevForum @JJackTed! Congrats! Let me know if you need any scripting assistance, I should be able to help with most stuff.
@AwsomePossum212 Thanks man! I could do with some tips. I am going to be working with @for_ms on a great project. Not giving any spoilers just yet! Maybe you could work with us. Just give me and @for_ms a DM with some samples, should all be good itās up to you. Again many thanks, Jack - DevForum New Member and Kronos Studios Lead Moderator.
Iām new here, itās been a pleasure to be accepted into the forum!
Iām for_ms. I have been a member since 2016, this is not my first account. I am currently located in the United Kingdom, and have some plans within the Roblox Development community. My brother introduced me to Roblox Studio and asked me to check it out, so I decided to install some plugins and build whatever I could imagine of. One of the days, I decided I would love to know how to script and code in lua, python, C++ ect.
My goals throughout my time here on this platform are to make games, inspire and welcome new developers, assisting people with tips based on the topics I like.
My role in the developer community, is programmer because I love scripting in games and experimenting with different codes to have fun! Iām also interested in Web Design, since Iāve been able to design websites and itās linked to my school future projects.
I hope everyone has a blessed day, and make sure to follow your dreams, donāt let anyone take them away from you and never give up!
Hello everyone! My name is s1kc0, and as you probably could have guessed it is pronounced as āsicko.ā If you are wondering, no I did not make s1kc0 my name because of Travis Scottās Sicko Mode!
I found Roblox in late 2008 when I was 6 or 7 years old. I was watching a Guitar Hero III YouTube video (because that game is awesome) and I saw an ad to the left of the video that showed a game that looked cool. Iāve probably been playing ever since, but lately, it was on and off until recently.
I first got started with game development a few months after F3X was released. I built A LOT in personal build servers (back when those were a thing) with my best friend I met through Roblox, DataRaven. I probably built like that for a solid year or two, but I never really took it too seriously. I havenāt continually built since then (if I did I would be a lot better than what I am now) but I am always interested to build. As of recently, I am more into the programming aspect of game development. I have always been interested in programming a lot more than modeling and building and such just because I would like to think of myself as a more logical thinker. So technically I got really into game development about 1 month ago.
My current goal is to build a game from scratch and hopefully get it to the front page. It has always and still is been my goal to get a game to the front page. After that, I would love if I could get 1 million visits! And after that, it would be awesome if I could have my first DevEx exchange!
What I mainly do as a developer, and what Iām also trying to improve my skill at constantly, is coding. I would like to think of myself as a Programmer even though I may not be too proficient at it.
I am glad I was made a New Member in the DevForum and I canāt wait for the journey ahead!
Welcome to the DevForum @s1kc0! Congrats! Feel free to DM me with scripting questions, I might be able to answer them.
Hello fellow Developers/Aspiring Developers! My name is Legitmanp and I am a new member of the Developer Forums. I first found Roblox in 2012 by a friend who introduced me to Coolgoldboy15ās Hunger Games creation which I quickly got addicted to.
After a year or so of playing his game along with a few other popular games created on Roblox at the time I started to wonder if I could create something like that, so my first step was to open studio for the first time ever and combine a bunch of free models until I thought I had a fun game. Of course after about a year of trying this I realized that not only will it not work but it was not a creation of my own but a compilation of others.
Around 2-3 years ago I started learning Lua in hopes of opening a GMod Server and creating scripts for it however quickly fell out of GMod and decided to come back to Roblox where I could use that basic knowledge of Lua to create something on the platform. After a year or so of programming on Roblox I became knowledgeable of Lua and Robloxās impementation of Lua into Studio and began working for small and upcoming games for free.
I have now come to a point where Roblox is my full time job and I am in a great place in life. My current goals consist of finishing a game which I personally find fun and entertaining to play, find and help new developers who are just getting into Roblox Development/Programming in general and to eventually apply for a Job at Roblox.
As said above I am a Programmer/Scripter however have also recently gotten into UI Design and find it very fun. That is pretty much all! I hope to see some new and familiar faces on the Developer Forums and look forward to helping those who need it.
Welcome to the community, @Legitmanp. Hope you enjoy it on the DevForum!
Hi, my name is Raheem. I am a programmer.
My friends recommended me to join ROBLOX in 2012, and after watching countless YouTube videos like survive the hotel tsunami, I gave in and made a ROBLOX account.
Before programming on ROBLOX, I used to learn how to code using websites like Codecademy. Once I learnt about programming on ROBLOX, I began watching official tutorials that interested me very much.
Iāve been programming on ROBLOX probably since 2014. My skills have rapidly increased within the past couple of years and I guess you could call me a solo developer. I havenāt created any popular games yet as I am still learning about proper development management and I havenāt gotten enough time to build some awesome games.
Anyways, I have been creating small projects recently. For example, today I made a bezier curve simulator. At the moment, you can only edit the red points in studio, so you should probably read the description of the game.
I am quite grateful for the resources provided by the community. I wonder if people realise how much of an impact they make, like @AxisAngle, @EgoMoose, etc.
Welcome to the community, @UltimateRaheem! Iām glad you were able to get use out of the resources others and I have have provided.
Hope you enjoy the forums and good luck with your future projects!
Hello, everyone, Iām Antradz and Iām a new member of the Developer Forums. I joined ROBLOX in late October of 2012. I donāt remember what it was exactly that made me join, but I had been playing games such as Minecraft and I think a few friends got me hooked on some games.
Iād say within the last year and a half Iāve really gotten into ROBLOX again along with a friend of mine. We play a variety of games, which of course lead us to inspiration for new games. Of course, some of those projects went unfinished while others are still a WIP. As time went on I became more and more interested development on ROBLOX. My friend would typically do the building while Iād script everything, and each time Iād find better and more efficient ways to do things than in the previous projects. In the beginning, Iād make a lot of silly mistakes, mostly syntax because Iām used to other programming languages such as Java where itās else if
instead of elseif
in Lua. Of course, as with learning any new programming language, I had to consult the Wiki for help on things I didnāt yet grasp. I still consult the Wiki as itās an immensely helpful resource. Iāve only recently discovered the Developer Forums and I think Iāll fit right in.
I have many goals for the platform, but they say start small. One of my smaller goals is to make a game with my friend from scratch and for it, to end up with roughly 500 visits. After that and many other goals, Iād eventually like to end up in a place where DevEx would be possible. Hopefully, at some point in the future, I can check all of my goals off my list.
Iām a programmer, itās always been a passion of mine and I can say that I know about 8 or so programming languages (fluently). Iām continuing to learn more and I try to tackle a new one every 6-8 months or so depending on the difficulty of the language.
As with any good introduction, there must be a conclusion. With that said, Iām glad I was made a New Member so that I can further my involvement in the Developer Forums, I hope someday in the future I can provide help to individuals who need it. As it stands right now, Iāve got a lot on my plate with a development project and a deadline to meet.
Regards,
Antradz
Hello everyone, my name is Utibrix. Iām appreciative of being able to join the Roblox Dev community officially now of after 10 years of being in the Roblox community.
I first found Roblox in 2009 from some of my siblings playing the game and wanting to join in on the fun, and from there Iāve stuck with the game/community ever since.
I first got interested in the development side of things when I discovered a game called, āLandoās Apartmentā. I loved the way the game looked and how it just felt realistic to me at the time since a lot of other games in 2010 didnāt look as good to me. After I played it, I just wanted to develop stuff like that on Roblox.
I donāt necessarily have an achievement on Roblox I want to get, but maybe Iāll have one in the future of my development future on Roblox. Although I guess I would like to make a great showcase on Roblox to present how good of a building I am which is what I have started recently. So I guess thatās my goal, to make a great showcase on Roblox.
If you somehow āyouā the reader donāt know by now, my role in the Roblox Developer community is a builder. I love building games/showcases on Roblox, itās a passion for me and I hope to get better everyday especially since I have started to work in Blender recently which has helped me a lot on building trees. I started to develop my first game on my original account that I no longer have access to that was a grocery store that I scrapped long ago as I had no idea how to make a shopping cart. Thinking back on it that was a silly reason to just drop the idea, maybe one day I can go back and re-finish it on my new account.
With the conclusion coming now which is where Iām suppose to say things that make sense, Iām fortunate to have been given the role āNew Memberā, and I hope to go further and do great things on this wonderful platform that has been provided to all for free.

Hello everyone, Iām kees31(ALT) and Iām happy that I joined the developer forums. I joined ROBLOX for the first time on 11/17/2014 on the account called kees31. I switched to this account later, because I messed up my account age settings and got safechat. (Yes, thats me ). I chose to add ALT this time because it is in fact my (alternative) second account and I just liked it.
I have enjoyed ROBLOX a lot by playing games, and trying to develop them too. I want to be a programmer, Iām not that far yet but I use the developer forums and the wiki a lot to learn more. I hope that I once can release a cool game. I started with developing a year ago cause I got inspired by my friends. I do it as a hobby and just work on my projects and learn when I have some time .
So far Iām just happy that Iāve made it to here and I will now use the developer forums more to learn and maybe also help people in the future.
Regards,
kees31
I found out about Roblox when one of my cousins introduced me to it back in 2012.
I got into development on Roblox after finding out about the success of other developers on the platform.
One of my achievements is that I co-developed a game called Food Simulator which got over 400K visits. My current goal is to release another game.
My current role in the developer community is primarily UI designing although Iām trying to branch out into other categories of development such as modelling and programming.
I have nothing else to include in my post.
Welcome to the Dev Forums! Hope you enjoy it here!
Hi, I found roblox after it was recommended by some friends and have adored the platform ever since. after playing around for about a year I started becoming interested in not only playing games but making them as well, even finding it more fun doing so! My current goals is to create an amazing, original concept combat RPG which incorporates as many features as this beautiful platform has to offer. I tend to mostly keep to programming however I do find it enjoyable to build from time to time, focusing on mainly low-poly designs due to experience with laggy games . I am very happy to have been accepted to this great community and hope I will learn a lot from this and maybe even help some others
