Introduction thread for new forum members

Hey, I’m SagaciousWizard, and honestly, I have been trying to get onto the forum for several years at this point xD. Was randomly looking around today at different posts and got the notification. Never have been this excited. So before anything else, thank you.

Now, to describe myself, as previously stated, I am SagaciousWizard, and I have been on roblox since my middle school years, roughly 10 years ago. At that point I simply joined through my friend circle. After some time, my friends all left the platform, but I was eager to create something great. After a few years of trying to learn how to script even the simplest of algorithms, I just couldn’t make sense of any of it. However, after quitting roblox out of rage for probably another year I decided to return, but this time with a fire for the will to learn how to code. Within minutes I learned the basics that I couldn’t learn over the years. At this point I knew I had to be a game developer.

My main goal on this platform is to eventually make a game which I can enjoy with whoever plays it. Hopefully on a large scale, and also revenue would be nice, but to some degree I develop to make the perfect game for myself that others can enjoy simply as a side effect. (Hopefully that doesnt come off as to selfish… not my intent)

In terms of roles, I labeled my self as primarily a programmer; however, over the years I’ve dived into GFX/UI Design, Programming, Modeling, and even making Soundtracks. In fact, my passion for and abilities in music may be higher than my programming abilities, I just don’t like the thought of that xD.

Well, In the end, as previously stated, Its a pleasure to be here, and I hope there is a lot I can learn from you all, and if the time comes, someone I could help or even teach through this platform.

Hello everyone! I’m ForwardUntoSean and I am proud to introduce myself to the dev community!
First thing is first, I found Roblox back in 2010 via an advertisement as I loved to play flash games so I decided to give Roblox a try. I enjoyed it a lot so I stuck around.
I got started with development as I work with an Empire based group and I assist with its scripts and implementing scripts.
My goal here on the platform is to become an expert in scripting as I do enjoy scripts and one day be successful. But as of right now, I am still learning how scripts work during my free time and I play around with scripts so I can become accustomed to them.
My role as of right now is a scripter in training as I am still learning. If anyone wants to help aid me progress further, I welcome any and all help I can get.
I will also add that as of the time writing this, I am 20 years of age. I regret not getting involved within the community but I will make up for lost time and one day hoping to make my goals a reality!

Edit: I failed to mention that I have been and will be using the dev forum a lot and whatever resources that Roblox has to offer. I use countless resources from multiple sites but since there are malicious sites out there, I remain vigilant.

Like everyone else I’m also new, well not very new but new to developing, I’ve been surfing the forum for a while now and I’m actually making a game on my own. Well making a game solo is quite hard but I think I can do it. If not then I might someday ask for help :smiley: . Thanks for welcoming me

Hey. My name is efan12ya but you can just call me efan. I found ROBLOX back in 2015 when I was browsing the web for new online games to play.
My friends encouraged me to start building when I opened a new group and couldn’t find any developers willing to work for free (obviously).
My goal is to develop builds for small groups looking to aim higher, with a detailed game.
I’m a builder but I am learning how to script.
I’m glad to be here.

I found Roblox accidently one day and just started playing,
I had no idea there was this whole developer part of the Roblox platform but I started with it in 2018 just like any normal user would, I began using free models which I find to be a bad thing as in case of making games
my current goal is to learn as much as I can about development, practice a lot and get accepted in this amazing community as well as finishing a project I’m currently working on just to experience everything by myself
I’m an animator, wouldn’t call myself too great of a programmer but I’m trying to make it for better every day, I’m practicing building, GFX, and UI Designing and so far I’ve learned a lot from this forum, all the little tips and tricks which are helpful to a newbie like me

I found roblox by seeing cool games and wanting to play them myself like that prop hunt game

I wanted to make those games so i started to develop at around 2018-ish

I want to become a better developer over all and be independent

Im a Programmar/Builder but im not that good

im better at giving surgery to scripts to create a new line of code i need or to make a script FE

Hello im new here. Been trying to get in for a while now and im glad to finally become a new member to forum!

My name is kim123lol i joined Roblox 2013 but then made my first account at 2014. I found the game through some friends when i was younger and i had a lot of fun, we mostly played games in the horror genre but then later on they stopped playing. I myself started playing some building games and that’s how i started with development. My current goal is to be apart of a development of a great game, and showing off my creations. I am very happy to be apart of this community as Roblox has been a fun part of my daily routine. Thank you!

Hey! My name is Caleb, I am a young and aspiring developer and I am currently the Head Developer for Iceberg Hotels and the Vice Chairman of Baskin Robbins.

  1. My brother first started playing games on Roblox as a guest in 2014. I was very interested on each game was put together. There was everything from Sword Fights to Brickbattles! I was very interested and created my own account, which I still use to this day.

  2. It was originally in January of 2017 when I first discovered I could actually make a game, that I could actually be a developer and make something. I first started out using a LOAD of free models because I honestly thought that’s how you made a game, (clearly wrong). Then I started looking at the Roblox YouTube Channel and people like AlvinBlox and Dutch Developer and RIPPER0NI. I first learned how to explode simple bricks. It was pretty fun, I then learned how to script day and night time with the SetMinutesAfterMidnight() module. I excelled from there by applying for countless developer positions until I made it to where I am today, a semi-professional scripter for a 68k member group.

  3. I have achieved the position of Head Developer at Iceberg Hotels, successfully Co-Own Baskin Robins, 15k member group. I am a semi-advanced scripter and I know a lot of things about scripting in lua in general.

  4. I am currently a Programmer in the developer community.

Just Got Approved In The Forum And Hoping I Can Use This For The Better Of My Future!

I found Roblox at the age of 11 a day before my birthday (8/25) and at first I used it just for playing games. I started programming/coding at the age of 12 but was not doing it in Roblox I was learning (Now I Am Master) Java, Javascript, HTML, C#, C++. I started coding/building on roblox in late 2018 when I made my first thing (A clicker that is broken now). My biggest achievements is learning basic code for Lua. My biggest goal is to be part or be owner of a successful game. I am a builder although can script too just not advanced. I am here to better the community and make games you love!

  1. I found ROBLOX when I was young (age 9-10) and found someone playing this game on a public computer. I saw them play and it looked really cool to me. I played as a guest, soon made an account (that account was terminated for some reason :man_shrugging:) and here I am today.
  2. Back when I made my first account, I was really young and my parents didn’t really want me creating things on ROBLOX. More specifically, they didn’t want me to be exposed to inappropriate content. Despite that, I managed to install Studio and enjoyed playing around with the free models in Toolbox (especially the Zombie NPCs!).
  3. So far, I was able to form a community of developers, create an emotional attachment to ROBLOX and the community itself, and plenty more things.
  4. I would say I am a Programmer, Builder, and UI Designer. I do experiment with Photoshop-like applications like Affinity Designer, however, I do not feel like I qualify to be in the GFX profession.
  5. I don’t have anything else to include.

I found Roblox from a ad a long time ago, on coolmath. I was looking for games to play, and saw a ad so I checked it out.
I got started with roblox development, by learning how to code using my resources that was available to me back then… My current goal are my friends that I’ve made, and how far I’ve become. To getting into this forum.
I’m a Programmer on the site aswell.

Hey, I’m Vezonix! I found out about Roblox back in 2010 when my brother was playing it. I started developing with in game building tools in 2013 but eventually taught my self how to build in Roblox Studio since I was super interested in building my own games! I have a few goals which is to finish the projects I have started and another goal is to learn more about programming in Roblox. I think my role in the developer community is building since its what I’ve been doing for a while but I’m starting to learn more about programming. I hope that this year I’ll be more active on the Developer Forums.

Hello!

I have been trying to get into the Roblox Developer Forum for a while now,
it is really nice to feel that I have been accepted into it. I started Roblox with building
but then tried UI’s, I thought I could get better tried harder and now I am a lot better than I was.
I hope to achieve my goal of being able to use blender and photoshop to make GFX and UI’s.

I am a beginner Modeler and builder, I use Roblox Studio and Blender for modeling. I am also beginning to learn Lua scripting. I am an aspiring Developer, and I am here to learn from experienced developers :relaxed:

I found Roblox, when I was invited over by a friend who played bloxblurg. I created an account that day and havn’t looked back.

Once I discovered Roblox Studio, and the potential it has. Also everyone’s creations and games really Inspired me to want to learn and create myself. So the Dev Forum is a great place to learn and get support and feedback from others.’

My Current Goals are to become more advanced in Scripting. Script My own game.
Create my own game.

Builder, Eventually Scripter Once I become more advanced.

  1. A friend told me about it in late 2010. Eventually, I joined in 2016 because I used to play Minecraft a lot back in the day along with varieties of console games.
  2. I started fiddling around in roblox studio in 2017 and continued to build since that’s what I’m good at.
  3. My friend FrontLinemist57 (scripter) and I are putting together games under our development group called “Lunar Studios.” As of this message, we are currently developing a horror-survival game called “Castaway.”
  4. Builder and I also do very, very basic meshing. I am still teaching myself to mesh. I’d also like to learn coding soon. I figure I’ll give python a shot first since it’s very useful.
  5. I like to give feedback and I also like receiving feedback. I plan on showing off some of my builds and getting opinions from other people. I want to give the dev forums a shot with being socially interactive with other future developers. Thanks for reading.

Hey, I got in the forums around 1-2 weeks ago.
I found Roblox in 2014, because my friends have been talking about it. I added my friend, and they added me back. I joined their game which was a baseplate, and thought this game is too complex, and I did not know what to do on the game, and the point. Then, I rejoined in 2017, watching a recommended video that I’ve seen many times called something like “ESCAPING MCDONALDS”. I clicked it after seeing it for about the 10th time, and said I remember Roblox, I’ll try it again. (Video was from Guava Juice)
One day I clicked on the “Create” tab to see what its is, and I played around Studio with free models and starter games then found out how to use parts and stuff. (I did not know how to use parts until way after my friend told me to help him with a game, I had to watch a YouTube video, I was CLUELESS on what to do). My friends game had very cool buildings and in my head I’m like “OMG THIS GUY IS SO GOOD AT BUILDING NO WAY HE MADE THIS”, but actually, it was me who did not know how to use parts/use studio well.
I am a known moderator, developer, and a some-what barely known YouTuber. I am working on a game, and helped out on a few popular projects, and projects for myself for fun.
I am a builder.
