I found roblox on an old advertisement back on 2012, I remember playing it before 2012, and it was a pretty fun game.

I started with development pretty recently. In late 2019.

My goal is to make a game that would be fun for people, and to grow a playerbase.

Greetings Roblox Dev Community! First, Iā€™m thrilled to finally be able to actively engage with the team. Iā€™ll guess Iā€™m 2x to 3x times the average age of the folks here (Pushing 50) and have zero programming or scripting experience, at least since changing my major from CS to Finance back in the early Nineties.

  • How did you find Roblox?
  1. Like most older folks that play, I found the game two and a half years ago when I made an account simply to monitor what my daughter was doing online. I ended up trying Speed Run 4, then Snow Shoveling Simulator, then stumbled upon Bee Swarm Simulator very shortly after its release. I could not believe how incredibly addicting the games were, all while seeming simple. I played BSS constantly, and was near the top of the global leaderboard for a while. I had not been so engrossed in a game since the early days of World of Warcraft, which I started day one.
  • How did you get started with development on the Roblox platform?
  1. I got started in development after watching a couple YouTube videos and realizing that the Studio was open to anyone.
  • Current goals/achievements on the platform
  1. I made my first game: The Tricky Itch, themed after a childrenā€™s book I wrote a few years back, more for the experience and learning. Its still very much a work in progress, and is far from an optimal design Iā€™m sure, but Iā€™m proud of it all the same. Iā€™m currently working on a 2nd game, leveraging my leanings from the first, and simply researching on sites like this, ScriptingHelpers and of course the many great YouTube channels out there.
  • What is your role in the developer community? (eg. GFX, UI Designer, Programmer, Builder etc)
  1. Iā€™m a wanna-be for all of those things, and need a new category for ā€œLearnerā€ or ā€œHobbyistā€

Thank you again for the invite, and especially to the many folks that take so much time to write detail responses, update scripts and share their knowledge. That a completely inexperience guy like me can pick up the platform and learn with resources like this site is a testament to the community.

Hey guys! Iā€™m Paul! Welcome to the Roblox Developer Forum! My role here in the forum is a translator! I really encourage everybody to read such interesting and helping topics here in the Dev Forum!

How did I join the Developer Forum?
I was hanging out in the Roblox site for a while managing my group and talking to my friends. I saw a link when I visited this group called ā€œRoblox DevForum Communityā€ (I visited the group because I saw one of my friends is part of the group), I copied and pasted the link and it brought me to the Developer forum!
I began reading interesting topics around the DevForum. After reading many topics here, I encouraged other people to begin to join the Dev Forum!
Because they will learn many things here and this forum is educational for new game Developers!
I really appreciate the Roblox Team for making such an interesting Forum.

1.How did you find Roblox?
because my son played Roblox on my phone

2. How did you get started with development on the Roblox platform?
i remember my son watching youtube videos of other games with some kind of obby so i decided to try to make a obby for him like in the video and thats what motivated me to continue

3. Current goals/achievements on the platform
creating my own simulator game and maybe more

4. What is your role in the developer community? (eg. GFX, UI Designer, Programmer, Builder etc)
all in one hehe btw i try to make everything

  1. I found Roblox because my brother told me about it when I was I think 4.

  2. I started because I started learning how to program and I used Roblox everyday.

  3. Get Atleast over 5k visits on one game.

  4. Programmer.

  5. I started programming at age 8 and I started with I think C#. (bad idea)

Hi my name is Ryan, it has been so long, to be accepted into the developer forums. I believe, as a developer, it will help me learn from some of the most experienced developers in the ROBLOX community. I 17, and I have found ROBLOX in 2013, as one of my friends have shown me the game. When it comes to getting started with development, I started with Building. Back then, many people needed help with Building for their games. After Building, I just started to branch out towards many other things, such as Scripting.

My current goals are to learn even more about Scripting, modelling, and Building. I believe that being on the forum will help me succeed in these areas, I am truly honored to be here!

When it comes to my role in the developer community, I know at least a little of everything. As of right now, my main focuses are Building, GFX.

Once again, thank you so much for inviting me. Iā€™m excited to be with all of you!

Hello!

  1. I discovered Roblox back in late 2012, in the banner of an old flash website with games about building. Ever since then, Iā€™ve been hooked into the community and its games.
  2. I started building my own games using the Build Mode and had fun using stamper tools for my friends. Then, I started to experiment with Roblox Studio and made my own personal games.
  3. My current big-time goal right now is to make my own universe in a virtual world, with a story I had kept inside my head for years.
  4. I can build, script, make music, and digital art. Animation is out of my forte but Iā€™m planning to work on that later on.

Hi , found Roblox on 2018 when I saw a youtuber playing it , I found this game interesting as it enables you to build you own imagination platform , I am honoured to be selected as a member! Hoping forward to help by displaying my development resources!

I always loved to make own games on Roblox. So I began making GFXs and clothing at Roblox and I know some of building and scripting experiences

My goal is provide best development suggestions and services to my Robloxians and create best games like obbies.

Hello! I am super pumped that I am now part of the Roblox Dev forum!

I discovered Roblox back in the Summer of 2011 while I was watching Youtube on my grandfathers computer. I saw an ad for this website, and ever since then Iā€™ve had a quite the time on this platform!

I got started developing around probably a year or two after I discovered Roblox, and I started by discovering various Roblox airline groups, making airports and things related to that. Today, I am still friends with many of those people I met, and some of them I have even met in real life!

My current goal to achieve is finishing up my game Iā€™ve been making centered around the 1950ā€™s/60ā€™s.

Mainly, I like to build of course, and I also consider myself to be a pretty decent graphic designer! I am currently trying to learn how to do some scripting, and perhaps give myself the title of ā€œjack of all tradesā€ if I somehow magically become fluent in doing so.

I am very happy that I finally got around to joining the Roblox developer forum!

Hello, I am Serena! I found Roblox back in 2012 and honestly was the only game I played. Development all started right when I clicked on ā€œOpen Roblox Studio.ā€ It was just something I automatically gripped onto and got a hold of. My current goals on the Roblox platform is me starting to go more on the programming and scripting side, and I am still in the learnings. Though, for now I am a builder and I am constantly always open to new ideas and creating new ones. Being apart of the Developer Forum is already a goal in which I can say I finally became a member and, I am really looking forward to continue putting in my time into developing. Thank you!

I am new here so I figured Iā€™d leave a post about me and who I am.

  1. How did you find Roblox? I found it back in 2015 on my old account when various YouTubers I watched at the time started playing it.
  2. How did you get started with development on the Roblox platform? Ever since I came across Roblox, I have always wanted to make games. Iā€™ve always aspired to be the owner of some of the biggest games.
  3. Current goals/achievements on the platform. Become a well known member of the community!

Hello everyone, Iā€™ve been lurking on the forum for over a year and decided to join and intro myself.

  1. How did you find Roblox? A good friend introduced me to Roblox in 2014.

  2. How did you get started with development on the Roblox platform? I learned to make clothes a few months after I created my account. I learned to build a home store (so many revisions since the first) which further boosted clothing sales. The initial reason was to generate revenue to buy Roblox accessories however in 2018 I was approved to DevEx. I never imagined seeing myself active past a few years but here I am almost 6 years later!

  3. Current goals/achievements on the platform. Iā€™ve achieved relatively good success with my clothing sales and games (stores). My goal is to at least maintain it or even achieve greater success. Iā€™m constantly thinking of new ways to do this.

  4. What is your role in the developer community? Clothes Designer

Hi! I am XxMystical_SecretsxX! When I was younger I didnt know what to do I was always bored. I looked for games and found Roblox. Once again I was bored so I started playing around with studio I got really into making creations there. My biggest achievement was when I got to develop for NUSA. My Top goals are to attend RDC or some kind of roblox event and to become a popular developer. I am an experienced builder, experienced GFX Designer, and a novice UI Designer. I look forward to being apart of the community. :slight_smile:

Iā€™m a bit late to post this, but Iā€™ll try to do this.

  1. Iā€™ve started as a Guest during 2013 and Joined as an official account 2014. Iā€™ve gained control of the account and now use a 2018 account as my main.

  2. I started developing when I was within the SCPF genre of Roblox. I wanted to use my imagination to create futuristic objects that people would enjoy.

  3. My Current goals are to improve my building skills and hopefully one day learn to script.

  4. Iā€™m a builder.

I just got accepted and Iā€™m very thankful to be on this platform. I started using Roblox Studio back in like 2017 for fun but I started taking it seriously and made progress starting from 2019.

From that time to present I was able to gain experience for every skill. (GFX, UI Designing, Programming, Building, 3D Modeling, and Animating) Though my specialization at the moment is in 3D Modeling and Building.

This community seems great and well-managed. I look forward to meeting people and help others out. I just hope I donā€™t do anything thatā€™s against the rules LOL.

How did i found Roblox?

  • I found roblox in 2015 when i was on school, we went playing some random games and a friend came up with the idea to play roblox! :stuck_out_tongue:

How did i get started with development on the Roblox Platform?

  • I was hanging out on the roblox page and went searching up on youtube, then i came out on a youtuber who was developing. So i tried building and i still love it! :slight_smile:

  • I really wanna start my own game and reach the front page as soon as i can! :slight_smile:
