A wild shark has appeared
What’s poppin’ fellas? Let’s get up in here and recognize a new Programmer to the house - yours truly!
It’s absolutely a pleasure to finally be a member! I know these probably aren’t read much, but in case a possible lurker happens to find this reply, I’ll just jump into the questions as is expected of a new member
I was pleasantly referred to roblox by my best friend. I had a lot of camaraderie between my friends and brothers who all joined as well back in 2008.
- How did you get started with development on the Roblox platform?
I found free models, and figured out how to put them together!
Like a shameless ‘noob-trapper’, I immediately had the appeal to develop a popular game, succeeding in making my first totally-original obstacle course in my first month of joining. That was my humble beginning, but the beginning to a success and taste of the top of fame in roblox.
With that in mind, here are my historic successes in game development (2009-2013)
• Get Eaten By A Zombie For Points - My biggest hit for the era, hit the front page in late 2009 and many times after, earned 2 million visits in all. Basically a noob-trap that got me a lot of tickets!
• Catch Or Be Captured And Pencil Fight (on my alternate account, KillingPencil) - Another free-model hit of mine, earning over a half million visits since the old days.
• Age of Empires II Tycoon another old development that hit around 100k visits.
• Protect your underground base from zombies! (on my alternate account, crazyman1908) - Yet another free model junk game that I made in 2010, a mild hit around 85k visits.
This was my development before I could script independently, as I had slowly been learning to script since 2010.
I have since greatly improved, but my development and Lua experience has been built around making my game Build Your Own Mech - my biggest hit with over 11 million visits. It has a large, dedicated community of 25,000 members, and has been almost solely my motivation for development since I opened it in January 2014.
- Current goals/achievements on the platform
I strive to offer a building game that gives builders an outlet for their creative and mechanical curiosities. My game Build Your Own Mech has been a source of motivation and skills for many people, and I wish to continue this movement. It has been a great opportunity for young players to want to become builders and develop similar skills to designers, engineers, and have mechanical/functional understandings that help them to become skillful people.
- What is your role in the developer community? (eg. GFX, UI Designer, Programmer, Builder etc)
I am a Programmer, I strive to explore security and develop in game performance and create advanced features for my projects.
- Anything else you would like to include
I’m very much proud to be here - Roblox is a platform with a lot of great opportunities and I’m proud to be a part of the developer community!
Thank you!
