Introduction thread for new forum members

Hello! I am new to the ROBLOX Developer Forum!

I am Rezault. I’ve been playing ROBLOX for around 5 years now. My passion on ROBLOX is programming; I’ve started teaching myself programming when I was 9 by watching YouTube tutorials and using the ROBLOX wiki.

Anyways, I hope to contribute to the ROBLOX Developer Forum as much as possible!

Thank you!

Hello there, thank you so much for accepting me into the Devfourms. Allow me to introduce myself!

I’m kirbygreen4, and I love video editing. I joined in the year 2012, and I dreamed to one day contribute to this wonderful community!

My first successful game trailer that I’ve made was for Darkenmoor. And after the trailer being out for a while, people have asked me for a trailer for their game!

My goal is to have my work shown across Roblox, help out other’s in showcasing their game through a trailer, and be a successful video editor!

If you want a game trailer for your game, don’t hesitate to leave me a dm!

Hello!
My name is FileSaved and I am a graphic designer and clothing designer. While I can build whenever necessary, I tend to stick more to graphic design and clothing design (Sorry I took so long to post this).

Originally I found Roblox back around 2009 through YouTubers like Fleskhjerta and Megaman765. From there I’ve been on the site off and on for years until I eventually settled on FileSaved in 2012. This was around when I took up Photoshop and started to learn how to use the software through tutorials and just messing around with all the features it had to offer. I also started to learn a little bit of how to use Cinema4D, but that was only to render out projects I built previously in Studio.

While I initially started designing so that I could make a bit of robux for some hats I wanted, I slowly started to really enjoy the process of designing. I made clothes to better fit the outfits I’d come up with, designed thumbnails for a few smaller games and for people’s profiles (when that was still an option back in 2012), and I even began retexturing some hats. All of these served mainly as a means for me to learn how to use the software and become a good designer. Now I study graphic design in college and have been learning programs like Illustrator and InDesign to further improve my skill set and hopefully become a better, more versatile designer.

As far as achievements go, I have made some very minor contributions to Rolantis in the form of a chain beam for the F0-RC3000 enemies, along with a beam and particle set for the B00-STER enemies. I have also been volunteering as a QA Tester since April 2018.

I don’t exactly have any specific goals in mind on the platform other than to just continue to come up with hopefully really interesting designs.

Thank you for allowing me on the platform. I hope I can make some exciting contributions!

I first found Roblox on an ad on YouTube, 2010.

When I first heard of Roblox Studio, I had just been tinkering with some free assets on the library and being creative with them. The hundreds and thousands of assets in the library helped me to understand their designs, and functioning. I had worked with several friends and people in the community, in which helped me gain insights of game developing.

I strive to learn more and be part of the community of Roblox. I’m a UI Designer, Programmer, Builder, and a Marketer. I’m excited for what comes in the future of Roblox, and am grateful to be part of this community.

Thank you!

Hello. My account username on Roblox is currently Xerspex. I joined Roblox in October of 2011 when one of my friends introduced me to it. Ever since my friend showed me Roblox, I played almost every day. Some of my favorite games at the time included “Base Wars” by D8Dev, “Pirate Wars” by Pudinzo, and “Call of Robloxia 5 - Roblox at War” by litozinnamon. At first I would only play the games on the front page and almost never touch Roblox Studio. Whenever I did open it, I always get really confused and went back to playing games. A few years passed and I decide to try and create a game using Studio. The first game I made was called “Fight! Fight! Fight!” and it was a shooter built with nothing but free models. Fast forward a few years and I got pretty good at game development. I was still a beginner scripter, but I could build quite well. One of my goals is to make a game that gets on the front page. One of my achievements is that I helped build a game for a group. Currently I am not really sorted into any roles within the developer community, but I would probably go with builder. That’s it for my introduction.

HI there. I’ve been on the site since around 2011 but only around 2017 I started actually developing on the platform. As of current I’m working on mostly making presentable games for a group I run.

I have experience in a few areas of developing, but I’ve mostly viewed myself as a clothing designer. I don’t post a whole lot, so I’m hoping to learn more by reading and lurking more.

Howdy, im Kofikingston9000 but I now go by Jam_Toad on the Roblox website!

Ive been on Roblox since 2007 but I forgot my password to my original account Jamtoad123. I started learning Studio in 2013.

A current goal I have is to finish a game I’ve been working for a good while now and hopefully grow in the community and get a game with 500+ concurrent players!

Over the past 5 years I have learned to do almost everything but I have mostly focused on Programming so thats my strong point!

Anyways Im really happy to be a part of the forums and I cant wait to see where it leads

Hi, everyone!

I’ve wanted to apply for a while but never got round to it, so it’s nice to finally be part of the community.

I’m Gonow32 and I originally found Roblox in late 2011. I was instantly interested in the game and liked to explore all the creations made by others. I originally started trying to develop a while back after seeing the wide range of games available and wishing to create something similar, but this mostly just resulted in nothing of interest until 2016/2017, when I started taking a more serious interest in development.

I wish to create new and interesting experiences and concepts for players on the platform. I’m currently working on a story-driven single player game which I hope to release at some point in the future. I can both build and script, however, my strength is moreso in scripting/programming.

Thanks for reading!

I’m ConnorMcBlox. I found roblox at a early age around six or seven when I was at the library seeing people play it. What Im currently doing is figuring out ot how to make little obbys and scripts. My currect goal is to try and make a simulator game. My role that I want to be is a mix between a builder and a programmer.

Hello! As my name states, I do not identify as a fish.

I discovered Roblox through word of mouth.

I began to work on things in Studio. I didn’t get far, but by playing with a few building tools, I found new ways to build things, even if they aren’t amazing.

I prefer building to scripting.

My current goal is to release a showcase place made entirely of parts.

Most of all, I enjoy being with the Roblox community, and I hope that I can make good use of the Developer Forum.

Hi there! I’m polill00! I joined Roblox back in 2011! I started learning how to code using JavaScript in 2013 on a website called Khan Academy, then in 2016 I started learning Lua on Roblox! Scripting has become a passion for me. I love being able to create my own worlds in a goofy style! I love the experience I receive whenever all the code in a game works fluently together. I would really like to be a developer of a game that reaches front page! I’m currently working for a group called Radiant Studios to create Space Age. I’m looking forward to being a part of the Developer Forums, I hope I can contribute! Message me, and I’ll reply!

Hi. I’m Fifkee.

I found Roblox in–er, 2010? I don’t really remember the full story, but if my mind serves me well, it started with someone recommended the game to me.

I think.

How I got started with development (and where I am right now!) (bits and pieces, might not be 100% accurate)

I got started with development on the platform when I discovered my favorite game on roblox: Avert The Odds. I realized that there was a studio that I could work on, and so I ended up opening it, and building my first structure. And, my God, it was horrible. The most horrendous thing, from what I remember. I strayed from building from a bit, and ended up freemodeling and constructing new freemodeled games.

Now, cut into the 2013 to 2014 area. I started dabbling in coding, leading into making my first script. It was a simple script, composed of mostly Instance.new(a,b) and Vector3.new. It was the only thing I knew how to do at the time, so why not make a script about my lack of knowledge? It was about creating a part, positioning it, and sizing it. And, that was my first script. To me, it was impressive. I was able to make a script! I was drowning in euphoria and excitement. And then, I started touching up on my scripting ability for the next 4-5 years. I wasn’t consistently coding through that timespan, but I caught up well.

Now, in around 2015 to 2016. I came across Voidacity’s Script Builder. I joined it, and I had no idea how to use the builder at all. In fact, I ended up leaving it for a bit because of my lack of interest, knowledge, and attention span. A few months later, when I was a bit more experienced, I ended up freemodeling on Voidacity’s Script Builder, and started composing scripts from other people’s work.

In that same time, I met one someone that was important to my active learning. A good friend of mine, and his name was @Darkus_Theory. He supported my journey, giving me tips about efficiency, and how Lua “thinks.” It was fun, I had a rank on his admin tablets called Absolution, and I had it everywhere I went on VSB. I was like a mini-moderator of sorts!

Through Darkus, I met lots of great people, such as imtellingmommy, tusKOr661, Jacq_83, Mais_Doggo, sircfenner, MrKelvinVIP, insert_username, Nolicaiks, DoogleFox, and Mugex. (I’d put in more, but that would be way too long.)

Anyways, after my Voidacity era, I ended up moving to AntiBoomZor’s Script Builder for a bit. I also met Ambient_Occlusion and Vaeb, which both banned me for rather… questionable reasons, but ended up tolerating me once I learned how to script like a “professional.” I lurked there for a bit, and that’s when my ability to code skyrocketed. Freemodels without the owner’s permission were not allowed there at all, and it was a strict policy at that. You’d be ridiculed for even having them in your library! So, that meant I had to get better, and fast. And so I did, I spent most of my time on the wiki, and I asked a bajillion questions. I was intolerable, and I wasn’t really liked at the time. I ended up putting my knowledge to use, and I started composing scripts, using CFrame:lerp like an intelligent person, and formatted my scripts in the recommended fashion. And, due to this intelligence, I ended up becoming somewhat likable in the community! People would stop insulting me relentlessly, and acknowledged me for my growth. I was astonished with my growth, as well!

Now, to 2017 to 2018. I met two of my great friends–RGeeneus and RCaca3! They made the fantastic game called “Food Empire,” and boy, I enjoyed that so much to the point where I wanted to make my own take on it! And, so I did. It’s an old game, I don’t really work on it since I don’t have any food ideas–and I guess that’s what happened with the original game, too. I might pick it up later and remake the entire thing.

Anyways, RGeeneus was also a big help in my coding experience–and he still is! He’s a funny and great guy, and don’t be afraid to talk to him if you see him. He taught me light trigonometry, and he also taught me how to make my own placement system. Aaaand, he also taught me how to work with datastores efficiently. It was great! I was proud of my creation too, as it took months to finish (like any good game would take, actually.) I still talk to him casually, or when I need help, but it’s good to know he’s always there for me if I have any questions or concerns.

Well, that’s it! All of my memorable experiences, all in one spoiler. :^)

My current goals:

  • Become more experienced than Brianush1, Darkus_Theory, and tusKOr661.
  • Finish my Deltarune carbon-copy.
  • Come back to my Food Empire remake, and start it again from scratch! Maybe a re-remake of sorts.
  • Start working on games with RGeeneus. It's one of the things I look forward to most.
  • Start commenting on my code. Yes, I even get lost in my code sometimes.
  • And of course, become better!

I code. That is all.

Anything else? Er… I’m fourteen and I need friends.

written with html, just to flex.
sorry for making a 6 paragraph autobiography. i got carried away.

Hi there! I’m AbnornalActivity, a user of Roblox for 8 years and counting.

I found roblox back in 2011 as a kid while wanting to create something I could call my own, which was when I stumbled accross the site. I was immediately hooked and was playing every minute that I could. Games on the front page at the time like Area 51 hit me deeply in the nostaligia feels today.

I got started in development like how most people here probably did, looking at scripts from free models and editing them to make them fit what I wanted to do. Over time I became more invested in scripting and the Lua language in general to land a role at the biggest transportation group at the time, Go-Ahead London.

After two years I moved to a lesser known team known as Subland City. During this time I helped improve the optimisation of some scripts and some building, however it wasn’t ever much building as I didn’t ever see myself as someone who could build like I see some people. I saw myself as the one who does the magic on the backend. During this time I also did some side work on another group known as the DLR. An attempt of a replica of the DLR network on roblox, which was once owned by Wizzy011 and JC207, who went on to do their own things after transferring the group to reecelerica98, who owns GoAhead London.

After he was terminated for asset theft, vOranges took over the group to make sure nobody malicious could snip it and take our work. After a few months, the group fell silent and work eventually stopped. Which was a shame for the group members and me who enjoyed working on it.

I recently started work with Centro Travel in rewriting their current datastore system and redoing their UI to be much cleaner and to help futureproof for the road ahead.

I don’t believe my achievements are much, but I beliebe they are:

  • Getting into scripting
  • Getting into UX/UI design (as well as some gfx)
  • Managing to tag along for 8+ years.

Heres to a brighter future and a hopeful 10 years!

Hi, first off, I just wanted to say I’m so glad I was accepted into the Developer Forum. I found Roblox awhile ago from a video. I’m a bit new to building and scripting and have been using F3X to help me get started. I also enjoy drawing, especially digitally. My goal is to consistently practice these subjects so that I can build for others and maybe even draw or design for them.
