Is it possible to make a huge roblox game on a potato pc?

P.S: I’m sorry if this is not the right category / topic to talk about…

So, I am currently working on a round based game with a bunch of developers. But as I progressed to build the map more bigger, I noticed that Roblox Studio starts to lag.

I’d checked to see whether its because of my internet connection, but its still fine. But then I realised that my computer can’t handle that much of objects in the game.

So, my questions is, can you actually get to complete a huge roblox game although you have a pc/laptop with low specs?

I mean probably? Assuming studio doesn’t crash and you want to trek through abysmal load times and lag during development. It’s possible, but you’ll waste a lot of time.

It’s possible, as long as you take your time, and be motivated. Never give up in this sort of issue.
If you need more help, just contact your developers and see if they can do anything.

Yea that might help. I might check it out

And of course, Roblox will always tries its best to make sure that you don’t lag when working on your projects

If I make a big game on my school laptop (pretty potato) I can’t test it or it will crash

The same issue happens to me. I practically have to wait for about 10 seconds just to test my game.

Personally, I have an insanely bad pc. It can barely run jailbreak. I pretty much can’t play any game without having 10 fps. Unfortunately, I don’t think that you can do anything to prevent lag from huge maps. One thing that kind of saves me is using this plugin.

You can set your studio quality level to whatever you like (Even though you can do it in studio settings this plugin makes it more accessible and easier).

Even though it will not render much of the map, it will hopefully prevent you from lagging. If you are in a situation were even that does not help you (like me), You will probably be better off working on the game in a separate place (with very less parts), then asking your friends to insert models that you have built into your main game.

Welp, you do seem to have a very crappy pc right there

It i3 and I have 118 GB storage but for the rest I don’t know (I am now pretty close to buying a good pc for roblox)

Please give me a spec details

  1. CPU SPEC (includes generation)
  2. GPU SPEC
  3. HDD OR SSD
  4. MEMORY

Well, here it is my friend:-

  1. CPU SPEC: Intel Celeron J3060 1.6ghz😢

Also, RAM: 4GB (3.90 gb usable)

  1. GPU SPEC: Intel HD(r) graphics family
  2. HDD OR SSD: I’m not sure with that(sorry I don’t know much about that part though)

Its hard for me to multitask, for ex:-
One side, working on roblox game, no lag
Other side, listening to music at Spotify, freezes at most

ok, well too potato…
I recomend this spec

CPU: Core i5-4400 or higher
GPU: NVidia GTX 1050ti or higher
RAM: 8GB or higher
HARDDISK: I recomend SSD, The startup speed will be faster.

But that’s going to take me a lot of money to get all of those.

Here’s a truth–>I’m 16 from Malaysia. Studying for an important exam that is upcoming next year, although of course I know there are semester exams will be given

I can’t hardly earn anything. I don’t know how for part time

I didn’t expect it…
But there is a way. Buy second-hand goods!

I’m thinking of getting of getting these:-

CPU: Intel Xeon or Intel i3 (around 6 to 10th gen)
GPU: Nvidia 750
RAM: 8gb ram
And buying ssd

Will that be an ideal specs for low cost but efficient performance?

SSDs only boot faster. It has nothing to do with processing power.

Xeon is not recommended.
Because it’s not a well-known processor.

Roblox platform is for low spec device, so i think 750 is good

Yeah, it should be good. My GPU isn’t the best (intel Graphics Family) and my processor is intel i3, but overall ROBLOX Studio runs okay at the most.

Yeah, sometimes there are crashes for me, but not major. And getting a NVIDIA 750 will heavily improve performance and stop alot of lag.
