Well I did it before:
https://www.roblox.com/games/5687102227/Jail-City
updates were made with a better pc
I feel like this is a similar question to this topic but I don’t really think you need to have a super-beefy gaming rig to develop on something like Roblox Studio.
I have run roblox on a 2gb (1.5 gb ram available) ram Laptop, what I will say is that it is not fun, however it was usable in smaller places in order to release important updates if really needed. I do believe with your specs that you should be fine to work on roblox studio.
Just do note, that you should separate your work zones, like don’t create scripts in the place where you have your map stored, cause it will lead to extra lag. Additionally you should separate your map into different places to reduce lag and put it together at the end.
Yes it absolutely is, just don’t expect it to run smoothly.
Ram probably is the only thing that might be affecting your pc. 8 GBs is the recommendation amount, other than that as long as your pc can run windows 10, it can run studio.
Change the lighting to compatible while developing. That should help. Then if you want to see how it will look completed. Change it back.
Xeon is pretty different from i3, Xeon Mobos are more expensive than the regular L115x’s.
I recommend getting a core I5 8-10 gen, and if you can afford it a 1660.
Don’t get me worng a 750 is more than enough to run roblox, but a 1660 or even a 1050 run roblox on max settings and can even run other AAA games too.
Make sure you know what you are doing before you do it, building a pc isn’t hard but there are many minor things that could cause serious damage to look out for.
Maybe you forgot you can just hire people and get them to build the game for you then you can take the credit* and boom you made a huge game on a potato pc
My pc is like that,
I have:
I3, (INTEL PROCESSOR)
111 GB, (Samsung SSD)
8 GB, (RAM)
Kingston HyperX (Dunno what this is, it may be the motherboard.)
I have a HP EliteBook 804. It’s not the crappiest, but still a potato.
It’s specs:
Intel core i5 (quad)
Intel HD 5000 (512mb vram)
500gb HDD
8gb ram
Some random hp motherboard
Probably, i think.
Well atleast i got a HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop (17 gen)
It has:
I7 (Intel Processor)
1 TB SSD (I dunno)
16 GB Ram
Nvidia 1650 (Graphics Thingy)
Just don’t have a PC actually running on potatoes
(This is actually me running a xbox in a computer with the xbox plugged in potatoes)
FYI: That has nothing to do with the performance of Roblox Studio on your device.
Yes! Just keep your edit quality level on 1, and try not to use Unions.
duh? ofc u can lol it’s not like it’s impossible to develop once u go under 10 fps
An idea I have though would just to make your assets [assuming ur a builder here] on studio on an empty baseplate, make it a model and import it over so u dont have to build in low fps if it bothers u but yeah ofc it’s completely possible
8 GB RAM is a decent amount to run roblox without crashing. One of my old laptops I used had 4 GB of RAM. I was able to run Roblox Studio smoothly but Start-up and Testing was pretty slow. Then I upgraded to a Higher end Laptop and I was able to run Roblox Studio pretty well. Normally if your using just roblox studio 8 GB ram isn’t bad but when you’re using Blender, You will need at least 16 GB RAM or more for Large scale projects
As long as you do things like make sure that global shadows are off, and things like Voxel or Compatibilty lighting are on, then you should be good to go. Unless your using like a Core 2 Duo (joke).
Of course you can! It’s just not recommended though.
Yes. I should know, considering I am making a big game on a 10-Year-Old laptop that takes ten minutes to turn on and I don’t have enough money to buy anything else
As long as studio works fine, you should be good!
But as long as you think that you wanna keep things smooth, then need to go higher then
