Is it possible to make a huge roblox game on a potato pc?

Probably, i think.

Well atleast i got a HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop (17 gen)
It has:
I7 (Intel Processor)
1 TB SSD (I dunno)
16 GB Ram
Nvidia 1650 (Graphics Thingy)

Just don’t have a PC actually running on potatoes

FYI: That has nothing to do with the performance of Roblox Studio on your device.

Yes! Just keep your edit quality level on 1, and try not to use Unions.

duh? ofc u can lol it’s not like it’s impossible to develop once u go under 10 fps

An idea I have though would just to make your assets [assuming ur a builder here] on studio on an empty baseplate, make it a model and import it over so u dont have to build in low fps if it bothers u but yeah ofc it’s completely possible

8 GB RAM is a decent amount to run roblox without crashing. One of my old laptops I used had 4 GB of RAM. I was able to run Roblox Studio smoothly but Start-up and Testing was pretty slow. Then I upgraded to a Higher end Laptop and I was able to run Roblox Studio pretty well. Normally if your using just roblox studio 8 GB ram isn’t bad but when you’re using Blender, You will need at least 16 GB RAM or more for Large scale projects

As long as you do things like make sure that global shadows are off, and things like Voxel or Compatibilty lighting are on, then you should be good to go. Unless your using like a Core 2 Duo (joke).

Of course you can! It’s just not recommended though.

Yes. I should know, considering I am making a big game on a 10-Year-Old laptop that takes ten minutes to turn on and I don’t have enough money to buy anything else

As long as studio works fine, you should be good!

But as long as you think that you wanna keep things smooth, then need to go higher then

You should also be fine as long as its just lagging. That happens all the time on my potato pc and it still works just fine. May take a little longer, but other than that it’s fine as long as it doesn’t crash

Just with 1024 parts, studio already starts to lag. (Note all these parts are 4x4).

And, if you can find a NOTEBOOK worse than mine, you probably have more than 100 IQ:

Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU B820 @1.70GHz
6GB Ram (Note it was 2GB before I switched the “card”.) 5.71GB Usable
64x Bits

I probably can’t leave out of Jailbreak’s starting screen. 10-7 FPS if I try to play showcase games. 10-7 with big map games.(VR Maps for example.)

And, note! That’s with 1 graphics quality, probably everything that can improve perfomance(Studio settings) and with “max” perfomance.(The settings of the notebook itself.)

Mine also lags just with about 1024 parts.

It lags so much that I’m unable to run jailbreak, it crashes sometimes to be honest.

In terms of obbies, it doesn’t alg at all, but it runs at 20 - 30 fps

I have 2 fps on bloxburg, its honestly ridiculous for me

Well if your computer lets you write scripts without it taking 25 seconds to render each letter like mine then you are okay.

That’s exactly what I was saying. People can run games like fallout 4 on very old computer’s, it just does not give off the best experience for them.

me and my team are creating a roblox game mine is potato but just got 4 gb ram inserted so here the thing instead of buying a new pc i recommend you buy a new graphic card and ram since roblox is cpu bases ram and processor matters but yeah i lag in studio but it doesnt matter ive dealt it for 3 years and still will

It is possible to make a huge Roblox game on a potato computer, but you will have to expect lag when adding big things to your game. But as long as you don’t get discouraged and persevere, you will definitely be able to complete developing a huge game.

One small suggestion is after building a map or so since it’s round based host it inside lighting or something you feel it’s secure at then load it in at the start of the game. So studio wise you wouldn’t have much in workspace and gameplay wise it may run smoother. Just a thought.

I actually have gotten away with sixty FPS, with global shadows on.
