Hello, lately I have been thinking about plug-in building tools, such as F3X I see a lot of people using it and was wondering if it is worth to fully use this plug-in then just use default Roblox building tools? That’s it for this post, I was not sure where to post this so I put it here. Thanks for reading and have a great day!
I have never had the feeling to use a different tool. As @SheriffTaco said. It is about personal preference. If F3X Building tools were tools for ingame then I would be more interested to be honest. It has a lot of potential to be a good building tool for games, but it has some features that would be better to disable if it would be possible at all, because some features are able to destroy the game.
As everyone said, it’s all about personal preference. I use F3X pretty much from start to finish for commissions, with the use of other roblox plugins and blender. F3X is a great tool to use, and I’ve been using it for years now. If you’re looking for a different set of building tools to use, I’d recommend F3X.
It comes down really to your personal favorite i find F3X helpful.
Personally, I normally use Roblox studio tools in the way. I have used F3X before, but I didn’t really use that much plugins nowadays the only plugin I find helpful is the “Particle Emitter Scaler” it may be because I don’t really feel comfortable using those plugins since I was using Roblox studio tools for a while now.
It really comes down to your preference and what you find better or comfortable to you. Any plugins you use can still achieve the same effects whether using built tools or plugins everybody has personal favorites people may find that plugin to be helpful maybe they’ll say SBS is good
Like what a lot of people are saying, I think you should use whatever is easiest for you. This might help build better scenery, terrain, and so on. It might also help speed up game making!
I just use it because of the shortcuts, because its easier to use and parts are already anchored when creating them, you can also check out build v4 its useful too
Its a every builders friend for ingame building and studio building. Its not your best way to build but it makes resizing and moving parts way more easy
Use plugins IF YOU NEED TO, nobody is forcing you to use them, dont use them because you see other people use the same thing. You can still make the same things equal or yet even better without them.
They are only meant to make certain trivial tasks more easier. If you can create something faster than a plugin can create something, you can decide which you want to do instead.
I usually only use certain plugins to help speed up trivial processes like making tubes which I have a pipe plugin installed. I also created another plugin to increment parts on all axis equally a certain amount of studs (lol). Creating curves manually is also slow so I use Archimedes plugin to speed the process up by allowing me to make curves exponentially fast.
I’ve used F3X in the past to make re-sizing easier but I found that switching to it constantly made things slower and I wasn’t using it alot so I decided to go the normal route.
You can still create some pretty good things with and without plugins, its all personal preference as many have said before
I like using F3X and other building plugin because there are some aspect of building which requires a lot more work then using Roblox’s default tools. But I only use a part of it since there are some other unnecessary features.
I am a Builder on the platform and I have noticed huge differences between the two. F3X is difficult when it comes to getting around some things in-game. It can be difficult to navigate around your build
However, studio allows you to move around freely in an environment you can really feel comfortable in. I guess it is just your preference, whatever you like though!
I personally believe that F3X is an outdated development tool compared to the limitless use Roblox Studio provides.
The experience of feeling immersed while building with F3X is less convenient than just using a scale model dummy of a Robloxian for measurement purposes, or even quickly using the test function to spawn anywhere in the game you’re working on. You can free-cam through the map at any speed in studio without external tool use in-game. Studio provides the endless possibilities of plugins and other convenient tools at-hand. With those who work with building and scripting hand-in-hand, it’s more efficient to use studio.
For those who use F3X in studio’s test mode, that’s counterproductive.
From a professional standpoint, studio’s convenience and efficiency is highly valued. I can understand the preference of F3X if you’re more of a casual creator and or are just starting out with the basics.
