Hey! I have a game (click here to find it) that I spent a decent amount of effort into. (around 200 hours) I tried to make it a little educational without taking too much of the fun away. Something that anyone can play. But is the beginning too boring for today’s generation of games or in general?
From statistics, almost all players give up after around 2.3 minutes of playing it and I am not sure as to why. Could the name be missleading since this is not a classic tycoon and is more of a clicker? Initially I thought that it might not be intuitive that you start to earn money by clicking the book, and I made it a little more obvious with a screenGUI moving constantly. Or is this too annoying and would be best to make it dissapear after around 5 clicks?
Questions overall:
Is the idea of the game just too boring?
Is the name not good since this is not a “classic tycoon”, should it be more of a clicker based? (The game becomes more of a classic tycoon after around 5-10 mins of gameplay)
Should the “Click here!” gui be deleted after a few clicks?
What other quality of life improvements would you recommend for player rettention for more than 2 minutes? (I was thinking of flashy daily bonus and maybe a pet system, but I currently do not see the need for a pet system with 4 daily players and 2.3 min avg play time)
I didn’t go into the game itself because I don’t see the need for it. You can spend years developing the game and only 100 people will play it, there are many such projects. If you do everything wrong from the start, you won’t succeed and time won’t help you.
I immediately noticed that the name of your game is pathetic, I understand that the platform is mainly played by children aged 9-12, but why do you use more than 1 emoji in the name of your game? It looks very strange and stupid.
I basically like the game icon. But the description of the game is also extremely pathetic and uninformative, in principle there is no use from it, if you remove it, it would be the same. So it needs to be changed and described what kind of game it is and what happens in it, without boring the player to play your game and without rejecting him.
I also advise adding badges as many people like them and diversify the content in your game, if you copy any game, then do at least a little of your own so that at least something in the game differs from the original. In your case, you are copying the “Tycoon” genre, of which there are a lot on the platform, why should a player play yours, ask yourself this question, if you do not have an answer to it, then your game is empty.
why do you use more than 1 emoji in the name of your game
I mainly did that for symmetry and extra colour/thematic to the title. Looking at other games, it seems that they use almost none or one emoji at most, so you might have a point.
noticed that the name of your game is pathetic,
Is your criticism of the title that it is not “unique” “catchy” enough? I was thinking that keeping it short and simple would be the best. I will brainstorm other ideas and experiment in the future then.
the description of the game is uninformative; adding badges
Good points, will look into those.

To be honest, this is not a classic “dropper tycoon” kind of game and I tried to make it quite different with it’s own style and vibes. It diverges quite a lot from the classic “Tycoon”, and I might actually think that this could be one of the slight problems. A player that clicks on it expects a classic tycoon, but meets something else.
Nevertheless, if the game is good once the player clicks on it, it would keep them engaged so that is not fully covering the problem.
