I understand we can’t post Discord links in Billboard Dev Forum posts, or in-game, but are we allowed to promote/talk about our Discord server in-game? Like am I allowed to say this in a message that appears in-game:
Found a bug in the game? Message Normalshow12345 on ROBLOX, send it to us in our Discord server, or use the in-game report bug feature!
Don’t say the word “Discord server” in-game. Roblox’s chat filter censors it by default. Plus, Discord is an application only to be used by people who are 13 years of age or older. You don’t know the ages of people who play your game. Someone who’s 10 will be exposed to a 13+ application. This is basically breaking both of the ToS policies for Discord and Roblox.
Instead, I believe saying “communications server” would be better because most people know what that is. You can also link a Discord server to your game by editing its social links.
Absolutely not, because there is a reason why you shouldn’t. The platform includes an audience that is <13 which means anyone joining Discord at that age is breaking the Discord’s Terms of Service already. That said, you should not promote this motion.
So you can create a TextBox where the player can write the bug he found and a button that when is pressed create a discord message using Webhooks containing the text the player wrote. Using this method the player doesen’t need to join your discord server.
Discord doesn’t accept requests from Roblox anymore since to abuse and spam, but you can simply use this bypass:
instead of your regular webhook url, do: https://discord.osyr.is/yourwebhookid
Still confused by this of how ROBLOX doesn’t allow players to include the word “Discord” into chat messages but it’s okay for Pet Simulator X to have that word in their chat messages?
I’ve noticed that too and I feel like that’s unfair because if they can do it, why cant we? So hopefully that gets resolved soon. They also promote their website in their chat which I think breaks the offsite links rule. Links to non-Roblox domain should remain in the social links section which has an age filter.
