roblox came back online precisely long enough for me to upload the place and now it’s off again.
welcome back
Is this your ISP? Roblox has been fine for me.
yeah, the amount that it does that for you, its got to be something on your end.
Try using a VPN, different browsers, maybe even a different OS? if it all still occurs, well, RIP then
Try changing your computers DNS settings as well, one thing that it could be is your ISPs DNS not storing the roblox dns properly, so it just returns unable to connect.
When it is happening, Roblox pages also do not load on my phone/ipad, so it is not just the computer.
I was under the impression that ISPs weren’t allowed to limit your service to some websites and not others?
It doesn’t have to be intentional, bugs can cause limits as well. In this case, it’s being suggested that a bug or such in your ISP’s DNS, which resolves names such as t1.rbxcdn.com
to an IP address, might be causing you issues. You can change your DNS settings and see if that fixes it. Instructions can easily be found on Google. If you need a DNS server IP, 8.8.8.8
and 8.8.4.4
are Google’s.
Since ROBLOX doesn’t load on any device on the same network, I would guess that it’s either a problem with your router or your ISP. The fact that rebooting your router temporarily helped once supports this. It could be DNS, as most devices receive their DNS settings from the network they’re on unless you specify otherwise. If your router or ISP is returning old DNS entries then you might be connecting to the wrong IPs and therefore the wrong servers, making ROBLOX not work right.
Here’s an example of a DNS problem I’ve had: I have a setup with multiple routers connecting to each other, but I’m too lazy to fix any DNS problems there. When one router ‘upstream’ reboots, sometimes the others ‘downstream’ get their DNS settings messed up, and any computer connected to them can’t connect to anything by name. They can connect to anything by IP and internet is reported to be working fine under most devices, but ‘google.com’ won’t work. By rebooting the routers affected the DNS issues are fixed and I can navigate to ‘google.com’ and other websites by name just fine.
If changing your DNS settings fixes your issue then I would suggest going into your router’s settings and changing the DNS there so that all of your devices will work fine with ROBLOX and other sites in the future.
Restarting the router doesn’t work, using a different browser/device doesn’t work, changing the IP doesn’t work, changing the DNS doesn’t work. The only thing that works so far is leaving town or waiting it out.
Didn’t you already determine it was something related to your area? This definitely doesn’t look like it’s on ROBLOX’s end.
If leaving town fixes the issue, it sounds like an issue with your coverage
That doesn’t mean it’s ROBLOX’s fault. If the website had a serious issue I imagine we’d be seeing a dramatic loss in playercount, or a flood of forum posts.
If not the DNS, contact your ISP. That’s probably the best suggestions you’ll get from this thread
can confirm it is the router. when I plug into the modem, the problem is gone, and when I unplug from the modem it comes back. why would my router be having problems loading data specifically from roblox.com content providers and how do I make that problem go away? I tried changing the MAC thing and that just made it not able to connect to the internet anymore until I changed it back.
Glad to hear you got that resolved!
there’s still the issue of me not being able to load anything on roblox.com or in studio and being entirely unable to upload things or see images or press buttons.
DNS pun intended or no
shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
sneaky af
this is still going on. It’s like the router is just randomly blocking *.rbxcdn.com. Not the modem, just the router.
