Is the Kahoot Music illegal to use in my game?

I recently had a copyright strike put on my account, so I’m trying to be extra careful here.

In my game the Kahoot music plays during rounds, I didn’t upload the music but I do play it inside of my game. Should I remove it?

The Kahoot terms and conditions state that “All Kahoot! trademarks, service marks, trade names, logos, domain names, and any other features of the Kahoot! brand (“Kahoot! Brands”) are the sole property of Kahoot! or its licensors.”

While music isn’t explicitly mentioned, there’s a high probability it would fall under “any other features of the Kahoot! brand” and would therefore be protected under copyright. It would be best to avoid using the music in your game.

If it’s a parody, you could always remix the Kahoot music.

You could hire a music producer to make you something similar without any risk of getting your account banned. This is probably the best option in terms of copyright, plus most commissions are $50 - $100 so you will have the best quality for what you pay for with absolutely no risk.
