It’s a great tutorial however you are going to have to make internals inside the pumpkin if you would like to have no lights inside as right now it only shows the inside portion of the mesh when looking inside.
This tutorial just seems to show up in our feeds every year. Guess it’s the definitive design, huh?

Haha, I remember trying this tutorial back in 2017. Might do it again and see how it goes 
Thanks for this tutorial, however the controls are slightly different with Blender 2.8.
