Let us read player's chosen website/app color theme

With UI getting more advanced and easier to design on Roblox, games are starting to implement colour theme options (usually Light and Dark mode).

However there is currently no way to read a players OS theme or Roblox website/mobile app theme to assign a default, instead players must set the theme manually within the game. This is really inconvenient for the player (+ some players may not even think to look for such a setting).

This would be a great little accessibility/comfort feature to have on Roblox.

As someone who needs dark mode as I am sensitive to bright lights (due to my blue eyes); this is a need for me. I hope that Roblox does allow for this as it doesn’t seem to be a risky thing to have as read-only

I’m not convinced this would provide the type of accessibility setting you want. The idea of a “light/dark” theme option locks Roblox into light/dark themes, or breaks the API if they add/remove a new theme. Plugins have arbitrary themes for getting colors, but this would not translate well to whatever colors people use in games.

I think a better comfort setting would be some way to turn down brightness/saturation/whatever would be accessible. I don’t see games supporting themes when hyper-saturated games are reasonably popular right now.

I’m pretty sure @Tom_atoes suggestion isn’t about having Roblox setting it arbitrarily to every game.

They meant if the developer chooses to have a light or dark theme inside the game and the player’s computer was set for dark mode then the developers less saturated version would be applied.
