CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 2200U with Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx
GPU: AMD Radeon™ Vega 3 Graphics
So recently I noticed that the lightning, shadows and materials in a roblox game or in studio look like graphics level 1 even when using graphics level set to max.
Here you can see two screenshots that I took on studio, one is graphics level 1 the other one is graphics level set to max, the difference is that the one with max graphics has some extra shadows and it seems to look less pixelated than the one with graphics set to 1.
Low Graphics:
I don’t know what caused this but i think this started happening since roblox added the unified lighting where there’s two options, Soft and Realistic. I have tried using both but they still look like graphics level set to 1. Also a little thing i would like to note is that things like SunRays, Blur, DepthOfField still work when graphics are set to max.
i think this is more an issue with your pcs specs considering you have a vega 3 integrated graphics card and ryzen 3 cpu which are both pretty slow
one of my friends is on a vega 6 card (not sure about his cpu) and he can barely run roblox at high graphics without it lagging
and comparing the graphics cards, yours is about 60-70% slower than his so this seems like just your pc specs instead of a bug, sometimes roblox changes your rendering engine or graphics so it performs better which is why shadows might not be rendering. id play with the “graphics mode” setting and see if that fixes it, cause this does seem more like an intended roblox compatibility feature
I understand and know that my pcs specs are bad and that could be the reason but for me using max graphics is really important to take some nice quality screenshots in a game or in studio, specially when making maps it is very important so I can see how players that use max graphics will see their game. I also tried playing with the graphics quality level and nothing changes at all. But at max graphics like i said in the post, I only get some extra stronger shadows and things like sun rays. I really hope they do something with this.
yeah Im still experiencing the same issues as you are right now. apparently it was “fixed” but the lighting is still messed up.

while I also understand my pc is on the very low end side roblox looked better before whatever update messed this up so im not entirely sure if requirements for better lighting in general increased.
