Developers will be limited to awarding only 100 Player Points per player in their games.
The entire Player Point side of scripting will be removed.
Player Point awards will be attached to badges. When a player earns a badge, they receive a pre-determined amount of Player Points. (This amount can be changed in the badge’s configuration)
The maximum amount of Points received from a badge can only be 10, so there will have to be 10 badges in order to earn the entire 100 points.
This is a pretty severe way to fix Player Points, but it will work. Player Points will now only be awarded with badges, which means they will only be connected to skill, and not money. Even if there are marketplaces (example: buy this badge with 100 robux!) they will quickly die out, or not even get popular, because a player won’t stay long enough for there to be enough players in-game.
Not only this, but those types of marketplaces should be banned. They will not be valid ways to earn Player Points. This will, of course, make Player Points MUCH more valuable, as there are less in fluctuation.
I have come up with a solution to Player Points.
Here are the details:

You asked for an opinion so I’m giving one: Have you not been reading the other posts that have been made about the subject of player points? Seriously, They have no plan to remove them(From what we have seen) and its hype will die off once they stop resetting the global leaderboard and it becomes futile to try and get to the top.
Seriously, These posts are getting annoying, Learn to accept the facts.
I don’t agree with this because the problem lies within Roblox tying robux sunk in-game to the amount of points awarded. If they change the way player points are awarded then money would no longer pop into existence by selling player points.
So currently a player can go buy points from one source that’s able to build a reputation and convey the message that it’s a reliable service for all of your point purchasing needs. If this system were to be put into action then buyers would be forced to go find sketchy not-so-popular games to buy their points from.
Punishing the players is not the solution to the points problem.
No.
You’re all ruining player points.
Player Points are NOT supposed to actually be a reward system. They’re supposed to be a cash cow. Get over it and make some money.
But when you see it consume the front page it gets annoying.
These are the moments for when I wished the karma system was still here.

Did I say that I wanted to remove them?
I want to improve them.

Except, those sketchy not-so-popular games wouldn’t be noticed.

Except they would because players would have to search for them once they can’t receive points from the popular ones anymore.

And then, the banhammer would strike on the game’s creator!

A banhammer is a band-aid for when things go wrong. If a banhammer is used then someone’s already been scammed and the damage is already done.
I would much prefer player points to be awarded to the place based on the total play time spent there.
This makes players ask themselves:
“How can i best invest my time to get dem points?”
For which the answer is:
“Play a game that distributes dem points in your favor = a game you are good at”
