I had this too, try using the other file format (worked for me, .mp4 did nothing but .mov worked instantly) or change the location you’re recording your videos from.

If not that, as a test, try using stock footage of someone in a plain room or something to check its the plugin and not your footage

Can confirm this is also happening to me.

Seems like what fixed this for me was to use a place that had been published.

My favourite part about this is that it works on animations as well lol

(edit: forgot the actual example video lol)

After trying some actual real footage, there’s a few things i noticed:

  • It works with some parts of the body partially obscured or fully obscured for a few moments (nice! but obviously you want a good clean shot for the best outcome, and its clear from testing that this is the case)

  • The animation comes out backwards as mentioned before (@Mimi_Dev for instance)

  • The arms look really weird because the default ROBLOX rig has arms that are the same length as the torso whereas in real life arms are much longer. It would be nice if this would be accounted for in rigs that are designed to be more anatomically correct, as from testing with a scale-correct rig i made myself it doesn’t seem to apply properly and still behaves kind of wonky

  • I cannot get ANY .mp4 video to work properly, but .mov works fine. When using .mp4, it sits on “Video processing” indefinitely whereas using .mov loads within ~5 seconds

Obviously this is in very early stages and I am blown away by how well it appears to work in its current state. Absolutely looking forward to this when it’s kinks have been ironed out, because this will be a complete game changer :+1:

how do we do held items? This feature looks amazing.

Where do the videos go when done processing…?

This happened to me as well, but it was fixed after I restarted my computer.

Not me about to make the sickest viewmodel animations

This’ll be handy for those who can’t animate. I can see this being used for stuff like dance or hangout games.

Some things will still need to be manual animated though, like first person animations. (Unless you’re going to set this up to work with custom rigs and be able to import only certain body parts. E.g. clicking an option that says “First Person” and having whatever algorithm be swapped or tweaked for that).

Also, a question about privacy with this:
Do you delete these videos (and anything else related to them) when done processing? And do you process them on your own servers or use a third-party?

Is there a way we can export these animations to an external program like Blender to adjust them to our liking such as locking the elbow joints in a certain rotation? Or are we stuck with the result we get in studio.

Actually, yes. When you import a video, a FBX file is left in your Downloads folder. Open that in Blender and modify it.

I took it for a whirl myself, and happy to say… While it is something you don’t want to see it ever again on your end, it does work for me so results can vary from person to person after all. It’s just the head movement that has problems, which I have yet to figure out how to fix.

P.S. I used a plugin to convert them to R6, and Sana is eternal.

I do love the idea, but… it tried it once to try to make a reload animation but that didint work

I don’t have the option to choose this beta feature. Am I missing something?

honestly one of the best features to be added in my opinion it truly works rather well.

This is simply revolutionary for the platform. Amazing work. Animation is a lengthy process that takes a lot of time and effort put in to look natural - with this feature it would bring say a 10 minute long project to a minute or less. Brilliant, absolutely love it.
