Hello! I and my other Team have begun working on a game about magic. (The name hasn’t been chosen yet) I believe the beta stage will be released by the beginning of summer, but nothing is for certain.
Anyways, I wanted feedback on some of the buildings in this game. I’ve gone for a low-poly style, but also a kind of realistic look. What could I improve?
Thanks! I’ll defiantly fix/add these.
But for the railing, after taking a closer look at it, the color and martial are the same, but the way I did the lighting and the angle of the photo messed it up.
I like all of the buildings except the first, due to two reasons. The roof, and lack of detail that you put into it. You should try to make the roof like the third screenshots roof. Another reason is the steps, you should add an extra railing into the middle of the steps. Other than that, you did pretty good on the builds.
It does not really have that low-poly feel to the entire design, you should try and aim for that smooth plastic material as it makes it look more low-poly. You can still make things look realistic with smooth plastic material parts.
Give it a variety of colours, most of them just include grey or white.
These should fit an avatars size, are these smaller than usual?
I’m assuming by low poly you mean having a simplistic look? If so, it looks great!
I’m curious, in the first picture, is it a full building or is it just one side of a wall? (Same with the third picture?)
They look great, actually! It fits nicely and they all match each other.
The main material used here is marble, low-poly does not really include that type of material on parts. If they would like more of a low-poly sort of style, they should be using either wood or smooth material parts.
Hi! Typically I know that low-poly means solid colors and/or minimal textures.
However, that’s obviously not what’s shown in the picture, and they said “low poly ish”, which is why i was asking if they were meaning it to be a simplistic build instead of low poly.
