Lurker | How to play, objectives, and shops!

Lurker

In Lurker, one person each round is selected to be the Lurker. The other remaining people become survivors. Whichever team wins gets Cash at the end, which in turn can be used in shops to unlock items that increase their chances of winning.

The Lurker’s objective

When you’re the lurker the goal is simple: eliminate all survivors. Chase down survivors, and once you are close enough to them, hold down the prompt to kill the survivor. With slightly more speed, 1-on-1 chases will always work out in your favor - watch out though, you only have five minutes per round to kill upto 15 survivors. Your chat is also disabled while you’re the lurker, so survivors can communicate their plans without you knowing. Plan carefully, corner groups of survivors, and avoid survivor traps to bring yourself a victory.

Lurker Kits

Kits are a useful tool to help you eliminate the survivors. Different kit abilities have different effects on the game. Some abilities only affect you, some move you, and others affect the survivors. You can read more on abilities and how to use them here.

The Survivors’ objective

Survivors have the opposite goal of the Lurker: stay alive for the entire round. The Lurker is faster than you on foot, however with more numbers he cannot chase all of you 1-on-1 without running out of time. Use your numbers and nimbleness to your advantage - hide in buildings, barricade entrances with traps, spread out when being chased by the lurkers, and most important of all, communicate. The lurker cannot see chat while the round is active, so freely communicate with your fellow survivors and outlast the lurker.

Survivor Items

Items are very useful for survivors. Items can be found in green item crates found all around the map. These crates can be opened once per round. You will find a random item chosen among all items you own, and it will be given to you. Items have a bunch of different uses, some are traps, and some can teleport you around the map for a last second escape. Read more about items here.

Shops

Shops are an important of both teams game. Without unlocking items from both shops, you miss out on opportunities to increase you win chance.

Finding Shops

To open up a shop talk to one of the two shop NPCs located farthest away from spawn. Upon talking to a shopkeeper, you will be able to buy any of the items for either the Lurker team or the Survivor team. Once you unlock an item or kit, it will stay in your inventory permanently. Use the cash you get from winning games to upgrade to more items and better kits!
