Make resolution of the ReplaceMaterial function on terrain adjustable

As a roblox developer, I have made a ‘trail’ functionality using region3 and replacematerial(), but the terrain replaces materials at a resolution of 4, which means that terrain materials are replaced in too great an area to look like a subtle trail. This is a huge pity.

Its written in the parameters that the expandtogrid() method and replacematerial() methods were meant to have different resolution options. If this were implemented then the size of my region3 would actually matter when im trying to change materials on terrain.

I really thought you guys had one up on unreal - but alas… the method and functionality seems never to have been finished.

If Roblox is able to address this issue, it would improve my experience and make my idea and game possible. Sad to run into a dead end like this. The alternative is not going to be as clever. (Same problem with replace voxels of course)


My greatest hope is that you will say: yeah we’re basically done - this feature will come out in two days. Well… Dont know if you keepers of Roblox engage much with these requests, but I thought I’d give it a try.
