Make the 2018 Egg Hunt's movement controls a toggle-able option on all Roblox games

As a developer, it is currently hard to make movement in my games feel exciting/satisfying without completely changing the default character.

Okay, so this is kind of a weird feature request but bear with me. For as long as I can remember, Roblox’s default movement options have just been run, jump, and climb (and sometimes swim). This new Egg Hunt’s controls expand on this movement extremely well, to the point that it feels like they should’ve been there all along. Making these controls easily implementable into your Roblox game would be a great way to make movement more exciting for your players and also, in my opinion, would really make Roblox’s movement controls more on par with modern standards.

The controls are cool and fun however I think they’re still a bit niche and too ‘active’ for implementation as a full feature. Actions like crouching and rolling also would be great, but at the point of double jumping and diving (I feel) there would already be too many different movement options and controls.

If you want players be able to move faster, just increase their movement speed - same with JumpPower. If you really need something good looking, you can then make your own.

Making it a feature would also cause problems – in my opinion – because Roblox would need to provide lots of customisation for those actions, meaning more things need to be made (and if they don’t, well it’s become a pretty limited feature and ends up being abandoned by developers just like Gear has). And in the end the system may not end up being used lots in the first place.

What I’d like to see is a more accessible way to make custom characters and movements. Might just be me but I can’t really figure out how to make a good job double jump or dive (I should have a proper go at it sometime, though). The general character system is also becoming a hindrance to a lot of developers at this point, too, so that’s where I think the improvement should be done.

I may be a bit staunch on the subject but that’s my opinion

I agree with this a lot. I think these movement controls were awesome, but I think it’d be a better solution to make it more accessible to make movement controls like this rather than making these in specific an option.

Api bloat. The real solution here (as stated above) is making the humanoid object more flexible…
