Nice Update!
However, Moderation needs reworking imo. Us devs should not be paranoid when uploading lots of assets at once.

100% This, about 9 years ago, my place while at its height, was removed, and I was banned for 3 days, I wasnāt sure what the actual reason was, but I assumed it was free models. During my ban time, I was able to get into studio and clean up the place, and remove all free models and other things I thought might go against TOS. That time was invaluable in getting my game back up and running quickly as soon as I was able to publish again.
Wouldnāt it be good if you could have an option to download a placefile to your laptop so you could still continue to work on them in another account while youāre banned?
This is actually great, but does it apply to local files
can we atleast work on offline places (saved to disk)?
like if i get a false ban so i still want to make updates
Oh! Is that what this was meant to be for? Iām not sure why I have this.
finally, they added an instant ban button so you can take a forced break from studio i canāt wait to use this
Thanks! Given the way things work now, this is a great improvement.
A good future would involve differentiating creator and player accounts in some manner, so that moderation can affect only the domain it pertains to with more appropriate consequences. Hoping the team responsible for this has something like this on their roadmap.
Would just like to voice an appreciation for the transparency and communication by staff on this thread. As this is a full-time job for many developers now, as PeZsmistic mentioned, this communication goes a long way.
I personally donāt like the idea where it kicks the creators off team create. It didnāt do so before, and it impacts my development speed tremendously especially when a ban is false and/or for non-development reasons. (aka: a literally unnecessary delay)
Ofcourse this studio behaviour is much better, but still if youāre banned for only 1 day the moderation isnāt fast enough to review your appeal within 24 hours so it doesnāt really give any āfaster way to appeal incorrect moderationsā as you mentionedā¦
These false positives & moderation errors are a nuisance - and encourages (forcefully) not to post/comment on this platform - or keep it to a minimum.
I got a warning for a post that even YOU gave a likeā¦ so it tells me that somewhere thereās whiners (or liberals) that moan just about anything.
If someone complains about another post - and after review nothing is found - that person should get a strike themselves.
On the Studio ban - there is literally no point to it.
How would you chat in Studio & bully or use bad language anyway ?
I thought the chat feature was taken away in Studio (or on itās way out) ?
If the offense wasnāt done in Studio - why should the penalty affect it ?
I donāt think the penalty should be applied in creativity at allā¦ and as saidā¦
This should be the correct approach
EDIT: Thinking about it - maybe Roblox should use Muskās GROK as a moderatorā¦ who understands humour & sarcasm
This is probably the best reason to have an ALT acc to sign in (as a backup Dev) and continue developing in such occasionsā¦ and can still edit any place (unless that is against TOS too).
For genuine infractions the bans are warranted, but from personal experience, the warnings are flimsy, and oneās creativity shouldnāt be interfered with.
My 1st warning was for a decal (image) that portrayed a bar from a western theme.
I learnt quite fast how bad moderation wasā¦ yet allows ingame bottles doing the same bar setup.
Cool release but whatās the worst that can happen if creators can still work on their experience for the duration of the ban? Or simply dealing with the warning while having the studio open? Maybe restrict asset uploads if thatās the issue? Overall platform progress shouldnāt be halted unless itās a permanent ban imo.
With that said, good progress. Thank you for moving in a better overall direction. I seem to have fewer unnecessary asset upload bans/warnings these days.
