ROBLOX currently just uses a graphics slider. This is actually kind of restrictive in flexibility in what graphic options you want on and off. We should have a proper graphics menu where we can control things like material quality, neon glow, shadows etc independently. This way the user can prioritize what settings they want to sacrifice and what settings they want to give up. A good example is turning everything down but keeping neon glow specifically.
I agree, however I can see why ROBLOX went with the simpler option. They want their users playing the game and not spending all their time customizing settings. Also, on a mobile standpoint, what game on mobile allows you to customize and get real deep into what graphics settings you can modify?
Material bumpmap: Off
Shading: Off
Render distance: higher than 2 feet
I would really love to be able to turn off materials, but keep view distance high. I’m tired of playing adventure games with such a small view distance when my computer could handle more quite easily if it weren’t for materials.
Plus, I’ve never had a drop in performance because of particles. Why must I sacrifice both particles and materials when only the latter causes issues?
We can keep the graphics the slider, but an advanced tab would be nice for those of us who do want to customize. You also have to remember that Roblox is a much larger and more complex game than most mobile games. Decent 3D games on mobile is still scarce due to only high-end phones being able to run it. 2D games allows for a wider range of hardware which obviously will have less graphic settings.
Even then I often see in mobile games separate options for particles, vibration, camera shake, etc.
