As a Roblox developer, it is currently too hard to configure a game or games efficiently.
Over the years roblox had a huge facelift with design improvements being made to almost every aspect of the website. While the configure games/configure place page did have some updates to it. (Namely, Updates and Social Links) it has been missing out from the updates for the most part.
I’m suggesting an update to the ui, along with news features such as…
- Making the “Back” button more visible.
As of right now the “Back” button is tucked away from all other settings.
Putting it next to the cancel button may help against issues like this.
Below is a suggestion of how it could be done.
- Removing the avatar settings tab.
There isn’t really a reason to keep the avatar settings if configure game doesn’t allow you to change it. It could be there for people who can’t find the settings for it, but most developers should already know where the avatar settings is by now.
- Making it easier to access each place’s configure page.
It would be easier if I can either get more information about places in the game, or have a button to configure the places. As of right now I’m having to click two to three times (The horror!) to get to the place configuration, if there was a button to configure the places in the game configs then it’ll make editing the game’s info easier.
Below is a suggestion of how it could look like.
- Being able to change the information about the start place on the game page.
The current system works pretty well for editing game information, but it would be helpful if I could edit the game description in the game’s page, instead of going to the start place and configuring it. As of right now I’m having to go over to the start place every time I have to change the description.
Something like this would work well.
- Ability to create gamepasses inside of the configure games page.
Since roblox already supports editing developer products, why not support editing gamepasses as well. If the avatar settings were to be removed this could be a good replacement for the missing space.
Below is how I would imagine it.
If Roblox is able to address this issue, it would improve my development experience because then my workflow would go smoother as I often forget where the description of the game is set. It would also make the configure games page more approachable to newer developers.
It would also boost the productivity of developers with slow internet, each time a webpage loads it takes a while until everything is displayed, reducing the amount of step it takes to change a game’s or place’s info would make roblox more accessible (or easier).
