"Most Commonly Asked Questions" topic

One thing I’ve been continuously noticing is the number of questions that are always asked repeatedly.

Such as “Why can’t I post in #feature-requests:studio-features” or “How can I become a regular?”

It would be great if a topic were dedicated to the most frequent questions asked about the forum.

And yes, I’m aware there are the “similar threads” windows for this already. However:

  • Mobile users can not see this extra window
  • Most users are unfamiliar with terms, and sometimes, similar topics don’t necessarily look similar because newer users may not know what some things mean.
  • Some numerously-asked questions don’t even come up in similar threads. Ex:

This is why I propose a topic that regards such questions. It could be linked by default when users first create a #forum-feedback:forum-help topic. Like so:

Another idea would be to add a pop-up in the similar threads section if a user types “How do I become a regular?” or any other question answered in the FAQ, telling the user that it sounds like their question was already answered on the FAQ topic, with a direct link to check the topic out.

This could limit the spam of repeated questions if the general community of newer members follows this correctly.

It won’t work. All of these repetitive topics ussually are written by mobile users, wich can’t see that “Your topic is similar to” window.

The fact that the FAQ does not work is mainly because the users who write these topics NEVER read the guidelines, FAQ or search for other topics before posting, so it will just become “anorher topic wich members do not read”.

Also the FAQ is like almost hidden.

They could just automatically show the person posting the answer for very repetitive titles. For example, if someone writes “How do I become a regular”, the article for leveling up on the platform appears.

No? It is literally on the left tab

It is, but most people don’t even go in that section, AND it seems like it doesn’t show in mobile.

The screenshot I shared is on mobile, and I do know that most new members do not check that section, that’s why I posted my comment above.

I didn’t see your screenshot since you edited it afterwards. None the less, people usually don’t click on that.

As a pure mobile user using DevForum at the moment, I agree with the lack of features DevForum has on mobile. DevForum is highly focused on Pc, DevForum on mobile is adjusted to have most features a user scrolling through DevForum that of a Pc has. Although there are a few downsides, not that many users know how to use DevForum on mobile, nor do they use it on mobile.

It’s unlikely Roblox will make a whole app for DevForum on mobile. But I do agree with a few things: Many users ignore/did not see the “FAQ” feature. And mobile users cannot see all the vital requirements needed in order to sustain a balanced amount of knowledge on DevForum. These include rules, common how-to questions, etc.
