Instantly after posting this I realized that clouds couldn’t be parented under Lighting, it’s my fault for not testing it. I believe I have patched the module, and it now finds clouds under terrain, and also applies them, it needs a bit more testing, so it will be exclusive to the testing version for now.

:cloud: Clouds have been FULLY supported and are now on the main version! Also fixed a couple of bugs with this feature, and should now work flawlessly without issues.

Movie Lighting now supports Light-Theme users! image

Custom Player themes are coming soon? :crossed_fingers:

FULL UPDATE LOG! :white_check_mark:

PLAYER MODULES AND LOCAL PLUGIN MODULES! (CUSTOM THEMES) [1/2] SOON

  • This update has changed the ways plugin modules are made. Currently this change is only for pre-made modules, and not modules you create (this will be changed soon)! However there will be a change that allows you to upload modules to your local plugin, and to other players, this will also let you use the new formatting feature!

TLDR: This new table replaces cluttered frames, and allows better theme sharing.

LIGHT MODE SUPPORT image

  • The plugin now fully supports users who have Light-Mode enabled! I’m still looking for a method for detecting when the user switches themes, so for now you just have to disable, and re-enable the plugin for a theme switch! (This change is done automaticaly VIA "settings().Studio.Theme") :sunglasses:

Added a new Hard-Lock to the testing version that shuts the plugin down during a major testing update outside of non-published instances (Baseplates)

  • This update will prevent users who installed the testing version from updates that might crash their place, or ruin their hard earned progress. It was actually added, and used in today’s update!

Thanks for supporting Movie Lighting, and for 120+ installs! <3 :confetti_ball:

Hello friends, an exciting announcement!*:loudspeaker:

We would like to welcome user “@onlyjakep” to the Movie Lighting team! He will be helping us with Lighting Packages and Coding, and maybe even some new features!

We hope that you brought cake! :yum:

This plugin seems to be getting better, and better each day, and I’m glad that we are helping users with their experiences! As many have stated, lighting can be over-looked in most cases, but once you get the perfect tune, your experience looks, and feels much better!

I hope that we can keep expanding and updating this plugin to make it even better!

it is good for beginners, but i think its better to teach people how to use lighting properly. it is also pretty useful for quick previews though

Hey, BloccoPNG!

Yes, we bringing out more options for lighting also
we might add lighting tutorials so you can create your own too! :tada:

We will also be adding filters eventually and a search bar. If you
have any questions or concerns please ask.

One question , does this plugin good for performance ?? . Idk if this questions has been answered , but if it is then pls do tell me

Hey, EducatedPilot04!

This plugin does amazing with performance and runs in the
background without any lag/glitches/bugs.

However if you do want to experience updates early
then you would have to get the testing version which is more prone to bugs.

If you have any questions or concerns please ask. :slightly_smiling_face:

FUTURE UPDATES! :white_check_mark:

Which updates would you like to see mostly in the future of Movie Lighting?

Should state that there are some very small issues, but most of them are noted! In the future there will be future optimization options such as disabling update checks, and disabling asset preloading.

I’m currenting planning on re-writing some of the code to make it more efficent!

noted. looking forward for the next update

We do have couple things we wish to work on before adding this to the main version of the plugin. Lots have changed and we want to ensure that there aren’t any issues with it. Most of the new updates are out on the testing version, but there might be some issues.

The testing version might also be changed up a bit. This might be reverted, but raw updates will not be published there anymore, only updates that need further testing, I wasn’t too happy with how the work-flow was on the theme update went.

Why does this plugin need script injection? Whenever I open up a new place, it throws a huge GUI asking me to allow script injection.

Generally, I have no idea why the plugin asks for script injection. This problem seems to be on Roblox’s end.

This issue came before the custom Module to Lighting feature was added. But as I state in the screenshot, I will NEVER insert any code into your game without you knowing.

Excellent plugin. The only suggestion I have is to utilize atmospheres. Atmospheres are extremely similar to fog, except that they extend into the skybox.

For more information on Atmospheres, I suggest you look through the Developer Hub.

I’ve been trying to use that feature more than fog, some packages still have it, but I’m changing that, or wiping the package.
