Looks really good for your very first game. I do like the head movement script you did it looked very nice and professional. You could dress up your dialog character making it more realistic.
You are so welcome, I hope that it comes out well and you gain popularity from it! I will be playing it myself right now, have a fantastic rest of your voyage within developing!
The game is decent but the GUIs are badly made they look like you have tried to squeeze them into a box hence the sides not being round. The game is pretty decent looking but the little island’s terrain has been made very badly, the underpart I mean. Love the head spinning mechanic, always nice to see and im pretty sure you have used a tutorial for that Progress bar correct? I have seen one exactly the same like that I was actually watching it the other day. If you could, make sure you make it different and in the centre top of the screen and not side. The checkpoints are well made but the dome on the island feels really badly placed. The trees on the island also hover above the ground slightly. I don’t know but I believe the flowers are free modeled, please correct me on that. The guider seems really unnecessary but I mean its a nice touch. The grass on the island also goes over it which you might want to fix.
I didn’t get to play the whole game but it is certainly better then the generic obby that I see on a daily basis.
I hope my feedback wasn’t at all damaging to your spirit but I hope it also helps you to improve it.
I don’t know why, but the GUI looks perfectly rounded in Roblox Studio, but for some reason it looks like Oval shaped when the game is run. I tried moving and resizing then, but they always get squished along the x-axis. I will try to find a solution for that.
About the terrain, I’m not a great builder, but I can try to fix it. My idea was to make a dome over some hovering Island. But, the result was not that great.
Yes, I was struggling with the progress bar script as mine didn’t work, the background Image is mine, I made it myself with Gimp. But the progress green bar that moves is a copied script off of YouTube. I will make it at the center in the next update, that actually sound better.
The flowers are free modeled yes, as I said, I’m not a great builder, I’m more of a scripter…
I will fix the trees hovering and the grass hovering over The Guider as well, will put that in the update log.
The feedback was highly appreciated than damaging!!! This will make me improve more, thank you!!
Yeah, for some reason the UI looks way different in Roblox Studio than in game.
In Roblox Studio, they are so perfectly rounded. But when I play the game, they are squeezed. I tried moving and resizing them but nothing worked. I will try to adjust the frame size or something.
I just played your game, and… great job!! It’s very interactive and fun to play. There are a couple things I would suggest, and I’ll give you some possible solutions too.
First of all, the buttons on the side are a little squeezed. You can fix this by adding a UIAspectRatioConstraint onto the buttons and setting the ratio to 1.
Second of all, the location of the buttons and the progress frame seem a little weird in the positions they are. I recommend putting them in a corner of the screen. If you don’t know how to do this, try learning about AnchorPoints.
I like your Head Movement script, but it sometimes interferes with gameplay by making it impossible to climb a truss or ladder. Probably either make it less sensitive or delete it completely.
Data should save, even though you already listed this as a feature you’re adding.
Other than those points, your game is AMAZING for a first game. A lot of modern obbies seem arbitrarily put together, and they generally are not fun to play. You luckily broke away from this stereotype by making the game interactive! I’m giving this game a like and a favorite. I’m excited to see where this game goes!
