Hi, recently I made a new game and to test out the stats I sponsored it for 20 USD for one day, and then a few days later I used 20 ad credits to sponsor it for 4 days. I wasn’t planning to continue sponsoring it until I added more to the game, but its already starting to get home recommendations so I was wondering if I should continue sponsoring it because I’m worried if I don’t then roblox will stop recommending the game.
I had an older game that had died down to 1-5 players at any one time. I think it was up to 2-5,000 at its peak.
Another game had around 1 player playing at any one time.
Both of these games have been getting increased play in the past month and I haven’t done any advertising at all.
I think their recommendations system has been upgraded recently and has a better search dynamic system set up. I’ve noticed that if you search for a game now you don’t get as many random games with no commonality in your search.
Maybe? Your data, at least to me, looks really weird, the playtime, which is along the CTR(But that metric is fine, and actually the home recommendations CTR is great) the most important metric, fluctuates a lot, going for 13min or so to 5 is crazy, the first is a literal front page game playtime and 5 min is very mid, so I can’t really say, maybe try sponsoring for a few more days and see how your playtime goes.
Also make sure to sponsor during more days, distributing your funds slowly, the end goal is giving the algorithm 10-20 days of good data from tons of visits, and letting it do it’s job.
I think the fluctuations were because that was before I sponsored so there weren’t many players. I did however try advertising on TikTok so I assume the people who went out of their way to play my game from seeing it on social media played longer than someone who would find it through sponsering.
Thats just because summers always give us devs more income, most children are free from school and so, more people play roblox. Also indeed, together with the new search engine this effect is increased even more.
As for the main question of this forum, maybe stop promoting the game for a week and see if you are making any loss in players, if the game continues to have almost the same amount of players then continue promoting it, however if playercount decreases a lot, stop promoting it, update it, and afterwards promote it again ;>
I made a new game with similar sponsors however I did not get home recommendations yet. I’m curious as to how your game has done after this. And also a bit off topic but how did you advertise on TikTok? How does it work?
After the sponsoring ended, I decided to wait a bit which ended up being a mistake since the home recommendations dropped back to 0, in an attempt to bring them back up I ran sponsors for around 2 weeks but it failed and now the game is dead
