Native topbar support in studio would be a nice addition
This is great news, I own both a M1 iMac and a M2 Macbook Air and cannot wait to see the difference in performance!
Perhaps now the possibility of bringing studio to iPads with M chips is higher?
thank you Roblox engineers
Ahh! Thank you guys! Apple Silicon support makes developing so much less painful!
Yes Roblox, please this! It would look so nice!
Are there any performance comparisons between the Intel and Apple Silicon versions?
yall can do this but not linux client?
I might try to come up with some benchmarks and test this myself, stay tuned!
I donât think a native Linux client is really what they want to do, as even though I adore Linux, the userbase is just too tiny to make a native build for Linux. Kinda sucks they broke Wine with Byfron tho.
Dawg⌠itâs so simple holy jesusâŚ
Unfortunately the application youâre grabbing still seems to be running through Rosetta 2 on my system, so I guess itâs just a slow rollout?
Unfortunately the installer for Studio only seems to be available on the CDN - if anyone can find an endpoint with just the Studio binary then thatâd work with this script and Iâll add it.
However, the script simply replaces the Roblox Player binary with the one made for Apple Silicon.
I get the same thing as well. Running the terminal command that mrparker offered doesnât work either. Seems like Roblox might be rolling this out as a beta.
Do you plan on adding support for Linux in the near future?
Amazing update, I guess the heat problem with the Macbook Air wonât be as bad as it is now.
Subjectively, it feels way smoother, quicker, and more responsive. Canât wait to see benchmarks or performance improvement statistics!
Really happy to see this update, excited to see the performance gains and especially the battery life improvements!
Apple silicon now being on Roblox is Great!
I did ultimately find the issue; it doesnât seem like the script successfully replaces the existing application with the downloaded one for whatever reason and stops before unzipping the file, so I went in and did it manually.
