I’m working on a hangout for friends, and I need help on how to improve the exterior of this house (and how to get better at building in general)
House
(Exterior, the roof is bothering me)

(Interior, living room and kitchen)

(Interior, bedroom, my favorite room because I think it looks the nicest.)

If you want a better look at the house, here’s the link to the game:

Mmmmkay here we go:

-Consider adding fog so that the world borders seem limitless
-Know when to break down parts to mimic a material (i.e for bricks, rectangular blocks stacked on one another with a part in between as the mortar)
-LIGHTING, turn on the good shaders and such
-Don’t make the walls paper thin
-Add more detail to everything(ish)

Ok ther u go 5 pro tips

i think the house looks basic personally, there’s not a lot of detail in it (in the outside)

Just like in real life, you first need to make a plan before you build. Don’t just throw some random guff or nonsense in your house. I highly recommend looking for references before you plan your build.

Here is one of my personal builds for your reference:

Step 1: Add 2 wedges in the top of your house like this:

Step 2: Right click then enable Align Dragged Objects

Step 3: Drag another part to the wedge and it should align properly (you may use GapFill for the middle part)

Use proper increments, it makes your build more proportional like this:

I agree with you actually, it’s why I made this post in the first place.

Thank you! This is the most helpful response on this post. And yeah, at the time of building this, I wasn’t using increments lol. I told my friend that and they told me that’s why my builds aren’t good, thank you once again.

I’d love to mark your reply as a solution, can’t find the button for it though, where is it?
