Because right now Roblox GUIs are rendered in one pass. Handling the layering and compositing required for a UI blur effect (outside of what they currently have for CoreGui blur) would require incurring a performance hit and might not even be possible on mobile devices.
This is why UICorner doesn’t round edges of child elements, and why ClipsDescendants only works without any rotation
well how does hexaria do it?

Uh how are you playing these videos in studio?
I’m really interested in this update! I can’t think of what I could use it for other than a electronics screen, but I can’t wait to see what others make with this!
They manually placed a .webm into their Roblox content folder and used rbxasset://filename.webm
.
Neon sci-fi HUDs :)
This could be so great actually if done right
interesting update for my custom particle system. but question: will 2d gui be updated with brightness and light emission as well?
Does this brightness property work like OLED screen brightness? Will it remove deep blacks?
Where is the folder located? I know it’s gotta be somewhere.
This looks awesome! I am sure of will using it.
%localappdata%/Roblox/Versions/*/content/...
corresponds to rbxasset://...
(note the lack of id
)
I knew it. However, when using a custom WEBM file, it didn’t actually work. Also, I suggest going on private if there is something more to say, I don’t want to spam.
I saw this and I realized I could make semi-neon signs with it. This truly opens up a new world of opportunities.
That’s for the entire place, it affects all GUIs
Noticed it yesterday really useful
