This a very useful update! I wanted this feature to be added to Roblox for the TVs and tablets that I have been working on. Adding a blur effect would be great too! Like, GuiObject.Blur which would be a float value.

Does this work with screen GUIs?
No, screen GUIs do not have a brightness and do not use the HDR pipeline. They are rendered in 2D on the screen, not as 3D objects.

Because right now Roblox GUIs are rendered in one pass. Handling the layering and compositing required for a UI blur effect (outside of what they currently have for CoreGui blur) would require incurring a performance hit and might not even be possible on mobile devices.
This is why UICorner doesn’t round edges of child elements, and why ClipsDescendants only works without any rotation

I’m really interested in this update! I can’t think of what I could use it for other than a electronics screen, but I can’t wait to see what others make with this!
They manually placed a .webm into their Roblox content folder and used rbxasset://filename.webm
