New font rendering issue after latest update

In the latest version, font rendering seems to have changed and no longer shows text normally.

This is on the new version:

(Summary debug menu opened with Shift + F5)
Notably, the letter “m” collides with the letter “s” in “msec”

(Font: Roboto Mono Regular at size 18)
Notably, letters are spaced incorrectly

This seems to be a widespread issue (it doesn’t only happen to me). My channel is production.

Expected behavior

This seems to occur at random when launching the app with the issue sometimes not occuring. The channel is the same in all cases.

Intended font rendering:

Notice how unlike above, the text is correctly smoothed/antialiased, spaced correctly and shows at the correct size.

Thank you, OP, for making a thread to address this particular issue.
I, too, am experiencing this with the Roblox desktop client. If it helps, I’ve conferred with more of my friends about this anomaly and realized that not all of us (who also use the Roblox desktop client) have actually been affected by it.

Edit: as my friends are receiving the most recent update to the Roblox desktop client, their chats are now being affected by this issue itself.

The spacing between letters is very strange. ‘at’ in “that” seems to be very close together. Chat in general just looks really odd.

Same. Just look at these ugly fonts :sob::sob::sob: kerning is messed up. And also they look so pixelated.

I have had the same exact issue. I was trying to figure out if this was an only me issue since I also started to notice that spacing with fonts and font rendering in general just looks horrible now and my UI’s look a little bit off.

I recently uninstalled Roblox to see if that would fix the issue, but it did not. This has been an issue since my Roblox Client and Roblox Studio has updated a few days ago.

I am currently running Windows 11 25H2, but I do not seem to have this issue on my phone which is a Pixel 10 Pro.

I have noticed this a lot on the Inter font, it’s happening to me on studio too.

Device Specifications:

Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 5600x
Ram: 32GB
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060

It looks like it might be related to this bug:

this issue has made the fonts look so junky, almost disgusting to look at. has there been a response from the staff team?

Been having the same issue for a few days now, extremely extremely annoying since I work with UI and I cannot reliably design around text because of this issue.

Y’all gonna fix this or not? Extremely hard to read in-game, and making UI’s is hard and annoying

This issue is still ongoing and has been for multiple weeks. Will we get any update on this? It makes text terrible to look at in certain fonts and sizes.

I just realized they basically told us to suck it up, and they don’t plan on fixing it… so…

Do you use a 1080p screen as well? A higher DPI screen that I have seems to be okay for the weird text rendering, but I cannot imagine we’re expected to use a higher DPI screen just to work around this issue. Hopefully they’ll patch this soon, it’s so noticeable for me

2560x1440, but it happens across all, even so this shouldn’t be happening at all obviously
