New Improvements to the Creator Marketplace

A staff member has stated they’re working on other ways to verify people:

I have a friend who has his acc as under 13(even tho hes 13+)

He can’t verify for the life of him. Roblox always leaves the devs with under 13 accs in the dark with these updates.

Please stop leaving these people out in the dark. Verifying for upload limits really limits younger devs and people who stupidly set their acc to under 13. Roblox is meant to power imagination, not stupidity

instead of upload limits, roblox can improve and new assets uploaded to roblox are sent to mods to check for viruses, etc

That is excellent news, thank you for telling me.
I really hope the alternate means of verification is more feasible for a majority of users.

Sadly, you can’t send EVERY new asset to the mods since:

• the amount of assets
• limited amount of moderators
• they’re still humans

i agree, if every new asset gets sent to the mods it would cause a lot of pain for them

I am a bit confused with the use of the “Essential” word:

I don’t understand why I need “Talking Ben” or “Road” in my game. Does this menu have any correlation with the game title/content? I am curious to know.

Unfortunately, unless Roblox somehow proves us wrong, ID verification seems to be the most effective measure against bots and alts but I completely agree with you regarding how this limits what younger developers (and older developers with “under 13” accounts) can do, even if they are real people. I am glad that these new restrictions only apply when publishing them and not uploading them for private use.

Finally!! Another amazing update! I love the newly redesigned toolbox. Now I dont have to constantly scroll in order to find my favorite models, decals, audio, etc. The monthly upload limits also prevent spambots from repeatedly reuploading models in a short period of time

OPINION

Love the Ideas presented especially with audio, not a fan of the execution within the categorical section. I feel more-deserving developers who spend a lot of time publishing and releasing models for public usage, not low-quality old images of what the limits of Roblox innovation once was.

As outlined I feel these models are old and could be replaced with newer more popular and unique models showcasing the modern-day Roblox standard, I’ll be frank, these models are outdated and shouldn’t still be representing what Roblox developers are capable of.

Also, those complaining about age verification, just get verified, not that hard, shouldn’t be worried unless you lie about your age and don’t want it changed.

Suggestion -
Make the Toolbox more changeable such as if you want to see categories, top searches, essentials, etc.

It’d be a lot easier to determine if the scripts a model has are malicious if we had an option for automatically opening or showing the scripts when inserting a public model into the game instead of just knowing that it has scripts.

True, but this is not good enough to ensure privacy & security protection for all that use the Marketplace if we want to check what kinds of scripts we’re inserting in our Experiences (And not Class Objects)

To be honest I think it’s a great Roblox feature, but I’m still wondering, I think they privatized all audio that’s new and longer than six seconds because of bottling. Now the only thing that’s left is moderation. If an asset gets moderated does that count as your distribution limit.

I mean, I don’t publish models and decals often, but I think monthly is a bit strict. I cannot verify the ID if I want to publish 200 models, for example (in Russia). Other than that, new marketplace looks a lot better!

So far this looks great, just a few concerns.

Most models have their genre set to all, will this effect the results and cause misplaced models to appear?

Since public audio is planned to return, how will this work with others uploading audio? It has the same problem as model categorization.

I have to disagree with this, as lots of misleading and botted decals were made by people with verified ID. While I doubt this limit will be a problem for the average developer, I feel like you rely on the idea of a verified ID being trustworthy too much.

I upload some of my independently licensed and copyrighted music to Roblox, in the future, will it be possible to attach this metadata to our own music files if I want to make them public (which I likely will).

I believe this update may be a positive change. I don’t really publicly upload models all that often anymore, so it doesn’t affect me that much.

However, I’m now wondering: “why didn’t Roblox do this for private audio uploads?”

You can though? Just insert the model (in a separate studio instance if you want to be extra careful), check the scripts, and delete it if it’s malicious.

This the best update ever Seen

Holy crap, this is amazing. I love the new clean Ui and genuinely hope that in the future we get more category’s (comedy, war, ect.)
But there is one thing that I dont like…

Why? This update looks amazing all besides that one thing, I do commissions where I build for people and atm my friends list is full so the only way to give them the model is to make it public then private.

Sorry but I’m not giving a 3rd party my ID anytime soon.

Edit: also monthly? Wth why not make it daily or weekly why monthly? I feel like you guys put to much trust in ID verification.
