New Improvements to the Creator Marketplace

These limits are very annoying. As someone who cannot verify their ID as I do not have an ID to verify with, this will make it quite hard to release open-source models to people.

The limits should definitely be raised or at least not dependant on ID verification. There are other factors that can be used to determine if a user is a bot account or not, such as email verification, premium, account age, previous UGC, created games, DevForum trust level, etc.

I disagree with the way Roblox is handling this. It affects the community as well.

Developers shouldnā€™t need to show someone an ID to prove that they are professional.

I have spent hundreds of dollars on Roblox & have been a Roblox user (on this account) for over 4 years. I have over 700 days visited on the DevForum & have contributed to many large games, that should be enough evidence that I am a ā€œprofessionalā€ & not a bot. There are many factors Roblox could use to tell if someone is a bot or not, some of which is listed above.

Both mean the same thing & the limitations hurt non-ID verified developers quite a bit, especially those who often make plugins or other open-source resources. Itā€™d be more understandable if the limits were 10 models a day but when its 10 models a month, that hurts quite a lot. Personally I only upload around 3 models a month on average but there are definitely times where Iā€™d need to upload 10+.

Iā€™m tempted to create a site where developers can freely upload RBXM files for other developers to use, without stupid limitations.

No filler. Straight to the point. This is beautiful!

Finally! You are implementing things that people have been asking about for years! Iā€™m surprised it took this long, to be honest.

My only gripe is that I think there should be more ways to increase submission limits instead of just through ID verification. But hey, a limit of 10 per month is enough to satisfy most people. It satisfies me, at least.

And even though I hate the spam, I will somewhat miss just how absurdly stupid this looks:

This looks epic!!!

It looks like about creator marketplace view public assets and more they having those having public even more although is verification instead about id, making about decisions publish models

Even more, those even impressive for more content allow using extend marketplace

Yeah i couldnā€™t telling limits are going to be miss it, at least something can verify ID to accepted making happened to release improvements, most of all there models once again there enough to be people

But good things about bad ID verify to believe all that cost agree for statement, but all fact.

There enough to user bot account right things such community verification etc. but also the if under 13 you cannot access for devforum matter if knows about community they did was not good about verification

This is a great update that was long awaited by the community. I am glad that Roblox have listened.
The only thing I would like to see from this is to be able to see the names and descendants of a model. For example
Model
Part
Script
ā€¦just so we know what it is. This way, we are able to view names of the script and where they are to see if they are related to the model.

@ everyone complaining about not wanting to verify ID/not having one

Roblox is investigating alternative verification methods. I donā€™t think they would use premium as one of them, considering Roblox has actively been removing any developer paywalls and orienting premium towards players. I definitely agree with devex being an alternative method considering you have to give your tax info to get paid which is verification enough imo.

To add to this complaint, many younger devs may not have an ID or a passport.

Already said here, only applies to public assets.

Wow time travel is real

And it doesnā€™t count for audio. Remove the audio limit for private audio!!

This isnā€™t an improvement. This is a huge and dangerous move in the wrong direction as we have already seen so many times recently: itā€™s amazing that this needs to be said, but it is NOT okay to force people to give you their ID to use the platform as they previously would have, and I am genuinely scared for the future of developer freedom and creativity if such moves continue.

Itā€™s very much become a way for Roblox to just impose this on everything because ā€œit will fix bottingā€. No. You fix botting by improving your moderation system. You fix it by designing the system from the outset to work in a way that cannot be heavily manipulated in such a manner. You fix it by working to explore solutions with your users, not ones that work against them.

Iā€™m sure that fellow older players out there will remember when the Discovery page was ridden with botted free robux scams. Roblox managed to prevent and stop this without requiring ID for anything. Clearly there are better options.

The fact that you are this desperate to avoid bringing about fundamental change and would prefer to censor your users is quite honestly disgusting. Whatā€™s more is that I donā€™t even think weā€™ve seen the tip of the iceberg yet - without fundamental reform, things here can only get worse.

This update is awesome! The fact that thereā€™s also a Vehicle category makes this even better!

Though I will miss the old toolbox :,)

Can agree with you. Anyone whoā€™s good enough can fake the ID verification system and get anyoneā€™s ID. (if they fall for it) Like, seriously? Canā€™t we just get to submit a forum instead of having to verify our IDs?

This is a great Quality of Life update but it would also be nice to see updates on the website as well as the toolbox

Edit: What?! You just told me I can only upload 10 of each asset type every month? Disgraceful, the limits should be: 200 models, 200 meshes, 200 decals and 20 plugins without ID verification and with ID verification infinite models/meshes, infinite decals, infinite plugins.

**cmo'n roblox, help us out a bit**

Actually giving feedback to the update:

I like it! Itā€™s now much easier to find models and especially Audio (since it wasnā€™t even sorted before by SFX and Songs)

When might this be on the Roblox website?
I want it now lol

To the ID Verification

Not this againā€¦ I mean, the limit for non ID-Verified folks are a bit too low.

Itā€™s not easy to have an ID that Veriff actually accepts, let alone passports

Who here even is ID Verified.?

  • me
  • not me

EDIT: nice to see that they are working on finding outer methods

Highly disagree with this change. Handing over your personal documents should not be a necessity to be able to effectively develop on this platform. I do not trust Roblox with this, regardless of whatever precautions they use to carry this information; Nor do I wish or will I irrevocably link such data to any Roblox account. This situation is also different from the audio change in that audio already required Robux as a limitation for limitless uploading, while other assets had no such limit.

If anything, all this does is inconvenience malicious actors while making it much more difficult for legitimate developers to create public assets without attempting to circumvent the limit. Regardless of whether or not you are id verified or try to get around their process, it is quite easy to make as many new accounts as you wish to increase your upload limits.

They could make it required, but I am unsure that they would do this as it would limit many users, and I imagine cause quite a few difficulties. I sincerely hope they wouldnā€™t, as I and many others would probably simply leave or in the case of new players never get started when required to give personal information right off the bat. This just feels like a bandaid solution for a much larger problem, which in turn caused another problem that didnā€™t need to exist. We will see if they improve on this solution in the future.

Edit: I understand that these limits are only for public assets, but it does not influence my personal opinion or what this post is attempting to convey in the slightest. Public asset development encompasses many resources on Roblox both within communities and the devforum, as such it can be useful and necessary for many developers, especially those that are just starting out. It also helps strengthen general knowledge and resources for any developer, which are often used to solve a problem or innovate to an alternative. I do not believe it should be hindered.

I love the fact that it has been reorganized, but once again, Iā€™m feeling like Roblox is letting us down.

They are making development, which is supposed to be open to everyone, instead harder for people who refuse to trust Roblox or Veriff with their identification.

I donā€™t even see how providing Roblox ID makes you trustworthy enough to have a verified tick, or more uploads. Itā€™s honestly just seems so stupid in my opinion.

I do not like the direction Roblox is heading in with an ID verification wall to development. I honestly would prefer an option where you are able to provide a credit/debit card, like Google.

One of my friends even warned me of this happening to other asset types, and now it has happened.

I do have a question, will updating plugins count towards your monthly limit?

Sorry to put this in caps butā€¦ THE UPLOAD LIMIT IS ONLY FOR PUBLIC ASSETS! As stated you have an unlimited amount of uploads for private assets but not for public ones. Please read the post instead of spamming the same thing guys

As for ID verification it is annoying for younger people and those who arenā€™t comfortable with it but itā€™s quite literally the only possible way(i can think of) to mitigate the issue of inappropriate assets and effectively ban people. Glad to see you are looking at other ways though!

Aside from this, BRILLIANT update Roblox! It seems youā€™ve really listened to the communityā€™s issues regarding the audio update, filtering and such and the new marketplace looks amazing, brilliant UX design compared to before! Keep this up guys :+1:
