The new topbar looks kinda empty, the bigger problem for me is the Roblox Logo and the Chat Icon, both images are a bit different for each other. And yeah, I also want to suggest a request to add this for codes:
PlayerGui:SetOldTopBar
So we can set the old TopBar, since we can’t edit the current one (I guess). Thanks for reading.
I wonder why that is being removed. I guess it does not make sense to note that type of information in game if it is already easily accessible on the site.
I mean, it’s a new look Yes but I feel it’s out of place and just feels odd, maybe have the option to keep the older one for those who enjoy it such as myself. It’s nice to see these types of updates however.
Goodness gracious! Roblox certainly topped the last bar (haha).
Seriously though, I can’t tell you how open it feels without there being a whole line of icons in the top left corner. Speaking of icons, I love the rounded chat icon. It reminds me of Google and how their UI slowly, but surely, all became rounded. And, it’s a good thing because it looks much more pleasing.
The only thing I have to say is the health bar (in the third image). While everything else looks nice and modern, the health bar does not. I believe that is caused by the black outline around it. Just like the icons, it would look much more stylish with a drop shadow to emphasize it from the background. Also, it is quite small–if you stare at the center of the screen, you literally cannot notice that health bar in your peripheral vision. Therefore, the health bar should also be made a little larger (perhaps the width of the player list and a little taller)–whatever will make the health bar more noticeable is alright.
Oh, and also, is there a new keyboard shortcut for toggling the (…) menu at the top right?
Regardless, this update is one my top(okay, I’m going to stop now) favorites in terms of UI. I, personally, support the direction that Roblox is going in right now (“modernizing the design”) because it best reflects today’s expectations. Simplicity certainly makes things look a lot neater.
I posted that as a meme, not as a literal farewell. The age indicator on the topbar has been forever popular due to its nature (the fact we already know our own age… please just don’t show it to us every single time we look at the top)
I also feel as though the old three lines icon was better than having a Roblox logo on the left. It just… doesn’t fit.
I think it looks a lot better and this is definitely a step in the right direction. My only issues are the spacing and scaling of the icons seems inconsistent. I also am not a huge fan of the Roblox logo in the top-left as a way to access the menu as it is not immediately recognizable as a menu option to anyone that was not familiar with the hamburger menu icon from before. I believe the hamburger icon is a more universal menu icon, but it’s not that big of a deal.
Edit to add: Didn’t even notice but your username and age group are now removed from the topbar as well, this is a very welcomed change!
Kids will 100% spend more time on the client than on the site. The purpose isn’t for helicopter parents, they can just check settings; it’s for parents who walk past and wouldn’t otherwise notice their childs account age.
The creator was able to set the TopBar transparency, basically, if the game had the “black box”, then that means the creator is ok with the black TopBar. But yeah, it’s your opinion
