Love this change but I do feel like there’s a lot of empty space on the side bar that should be filled.
This new start page is the best thing for me since UnreliableRemoteEvents. I love the fact you can see the most recent games you’ve worked with on startup, and jump right back to what you were doing the night before.

Maybe someone has already said this, but surely it isn’t just me who feels like the text is blurry?
Just comparing the titles of the templates to the text of the sidebar buttons, they look a lot blurrier.

Yeah there’s something a little funky with the cards text and a couple people have mentioned it. Not sure yet if it’s just because of the text size/color or if it’s actually rendering differently. I will make sure the team has a ticket for it.

Which part? The awkward empty space at the top is currently “normal” — we’ve got a ticket to at least put the Roblox Studio wordmark in the upper left so it feels a little more finished but we’ve had bigger priority things (speaking of: Recents view should be live next week!)

I think I’m having a similar level input/engine-level issue that I also see in this new Start Menu. My backspace key doesn’t work in textboxes. I cannot submit bug reports, so is it possible you could send in an internal ticket to look into this too? Would be very appreciated.
I use the Colemak (United States) keyboard layout in Windows 11, which replaces the QWERTY CapsLock key with left backspace. Unfortunately, this backspace key doesn’t work in the new Start Menu – or in any Luau-based UI on Roblox in general. I only get this problem when I’m typing in Luau-based UI TextBoxes, such as the “Search Group Experiences” search bar in the new Studio Start Page, any in-experience TextBox, or the save/config experience menu within Studio.
Because left backspace is my primary backspace button, this issue makes it really annoying to type in Roblox and specifically, to edit any of the experience config settings in Studio. It’s also been happening with this new start page, and I was able to trivially repro it in the “Search Experiences/Search Group Experiences” bar within the new Studio Start Page UI.
Repro steps:
- Given that I have switched to the Colemak keyboad layout in Windows
- And I’m in Roblox Studio or Roblox Player
- And I am typing in any TextBox element
- And the TextBox isn’t empty
Then
- when I press and release, or press and hold, my left backspace key
expected behavior: characters to the left of my cursor get deleted until I release left backspace
got: nothing happens
Basically, if I’m editing text in a Luau-based TextBox and I click my left backspace key, nothing happens. It doesn’t remove the previous character, and it does not enable CapsLock. I’ve noticed that left backspace works properly when I’m trying to edit text and properties fields in the Qt-based Studio Explorer and Properties menus, so it’s just the Luau-based ones I’m getting this issue in.
I have Colemak installed as a system-wide layout in Windows 11, so it works across all applications. I’m not sure what’s causing this, but my other keys work fine and are correctly handled/converted by Roblox – Roblox seems to read keyboard scancodes, so using WASD
to move, for example, works perfectly across keyboard layouts and languages (it’s WARS in Colemak).
Please let me know if there’s anything else I’d need to include for a bug report.
Hello, not sure if anyone has mentioned that they still have problems with the new Start Page or not, but I still have problems where Roblox Studio doesn’t load and it’s been like that ever since the update was rolled out. I reinstalled Roblox Studio multiple times but it still doesn’t work. (Image below)
Please add the ability to switch back to the old Start Page from the Studio settings until the Start Page is more optimized than the old one. I’m aware there are planned updates to optimize Roblox Studio, but we just need a temporary workaround.
I’d really appreciate the help because I haven’t been able to work on anything.

I like it. i think it looks way cleaner compared to the old one. I think it has a lot of potential too.
Would it be possible to have some sort of “Grid Scale” option in the place/experience right top corner sorting menus? Personally i would like to make them smaller.
Also, what if we could create our own “Template” places? Personally i believe it could save a bit of development time (along with being convenient) to simply always have access to a template we can create ourselves so we don’t need to constantly jump on a default baseplate template and spend the next 5 to 30 minutes just modifying it to our needs every single time.
Hey, since roblox is often seen throwing around these “social” and “learning” terms, what if other people could create freely available template places, or just any kind of free place? Like some sort of experience/place catalog for people to learn from, play with and do whatever else. Right now the only way for bigger names to share something educational is specifically from magic third party links, link mazes or via simply finding a long lost roblox place that you gotta hope is open sourced. I think this would be a pretty cool thing to have in studio, like a sort-of free catalog/marketplace for anyone to share any sort of place/experience with.

Also, it is constantly on screen with different sizes, but for some reason it appears in the video when it is big.
