New Terrain and Parts Built-In Materials - Release Build

It used to work. You can still swap the Platform Content folder across.

It may look like an attractive solution, but it seems like not all the textures work properly once inserted this way.

Here’s how the textures are supposed to look:

And here’s how they look like with this method:

A little help on how to fix this would be appreciated.

Did you forget to move the wang index over or something? I’ve had no issues.

Looks like I didn’t. How could I do that?

Copy the whole folder across.

The entire Platform Content folder, from version-(whatever).

I was able to do this, but the effects were still the same. They were not spreading misinformation.

Beta Studio crashing on startup, help.

Yeah, I can do this.
I have the old and mew platform content folder at hand so every week I can check if my builds are proofed against the new materials, in case Roblox one day forces it.

When I used the material beta my future lighting stopped working and is just either shadow map or just looks very bad. Does anyone know how to fix this? It happens outside the material beta too btw.

I had a crash on my Intel system running Windows 10, the response was:

An unexpected error occurred and Roblox needs to quit. We’re sorry!

Even when running as administrator

An unexpected error occurred and Roblox needs to quit. We’re sorry!

Try following these steps:

Yep. Surely an FFlag was killed in the 3 months Roblox had since it was released.

Anyone wanna explain?

It basically mean that you can make your own custom material. (only parts for now)

Sounds epic. Oreo found it in the 494 release changes on github somewhere.

I hope the custom materials aren’t the plan for maintaining the old materials.

Don’t get me wrong, I am ALL for the custom materials update, but it’d be a pain to have to edit everything still just to preserve the original look. It could break some toggles too.
