No documentation on gcinfo

According to studio, collectgarbage is deprecated and we are to use gcinfo instead.

However, gcinfo is not documented on the Lua Globals hub page. To add to the confusion, collectgarbage is listed and not marked as deprecated.

Searching the dev hub for gcinfo does not bring up any info either. I also looked for it under Roblox Globals.

This seems to have sparked some confusion for others as well:

So I have a data thing that is suppose to collect garbage as it says, but the script analysis says “collectgarbage” is deprecated, however “gcinfo” as its replacement has absolutely no documentation. How would I continue about? Do I literally just replace “collectgarbage’s” name to “gcinfo” or what? Collectgarbage incorrectly listed as deprecated

The script editor emits a warning when using collectgarbage, stating that it’s deprecated and to use gcinfo instead. [image] However, the Lua 5.1 manual states the opposite Function collectgarbage has different arguments. Function gcinfo is deprecated; use collectgarbage("count") instead. What is gcinfo() and How do I use it?

I want to know how to use gcinfo() to stop Dex. I cannot find any documentation on it, I have tried: for I, V in pairs(gcinfo()) do print(I, V) end But it does not do anything. I am wondering what it is how is it used an what is it used for!

Any update on this? Before something is deprecated in favor of something new, it should be a prerequisite to have documentation for the new change.
