Nocturnal Café Administration Guide

Welcome to the MR/HR team! We’re glad to see you here. This is an Administration handbook and can be used for Management Interns+. Keep in mind that leaking this guide is not allowed and will result in a blacklist.


Staff Code of Conduct

Professionalism
If an admin is handling a situation, just let them do it unless they asked your help. This includes: you warn the troller even though another admin is trying to warn or take an action against them.

Grammar
You’re required to use grammar in our facility unless you’re ranked Vice President+, in an event (unless you’re told to use grammar in that event), and in a locked server with no LRs. In the training centre, after the session concluded and no LR at all, you’re allowed to not using grammar. You’re not required to use one in our ally’s place unless told otherwise.

Use -s or -'s? (e.g. MRs or MR’s?)
Use ‘-s’ instead of “-'s” on plural nouns. Example: use “MRs” instead of “MR’s” for plural nouns.

Addressing “…”, “-” and along these line
As you know, in the training session’s rules, you shouldn’t say “…” “-” “I-” if you encountered a difficult situation. That’s why I really recommend you to not use that. You’re allowed to use it and there are no consequences in saying that, however. Though I really recommend you to not use it.

Biasm
Biasm is NOT tolerated. Biasing is treating your friend more different and exclusive than the others. Example: They are trolling but you allow it because they’re your friend, or promoting someone because they are your friend. This isn’t allowed and you’ll be punished if caught.

Training sessions
Hosts and ranker must stay at their respective lines while the session supervisor must supervise and oversee the trainees and trainers and they are only allowed to do a really minimum to no talk. It’s unprofessional to play around or even playing around and using countdown while the training session is still running.

And also, while an admin is helping someone handling a situation, you don’t need to get involved with them and let the admin handle it unless they ask you to do so.

In-game Sticky Notes

You are allowed to make a sticky message, even if you’re not the shift host! Just make sure someone hasn’t already done it. You can make the sticky message like this:
“Hello there! Welcome to Nocturnal Café! Be sure to order from our amazing baristas! | Baristas, no registers left? Server hop might help!”

In the training or interview session, only hosts are allowed to execute the sticky message.

Training Sessions

In the training session, you must join at xx:30. For hosts, they may join early.

If you joined, please spread STS in the trainee line, and wait ‘till the host role you.

At the training, Staff Trainer+ can host or co-host.

The Managing Team can be the session promoter and Chief Relations Officer can be the session supervisor. The session supervisor can also be the session promoter.

Hosts are allowed to play any songs at the training centre and other admins are allowed with the host’s permission. If you play any song using the “music” or “play/p” command the current songs will be automatically muted. After it finished please run the “p” command.

ONLY UNLOCK THE SERVER AT XX:40 AND LOCK AT XX:00, NO EARLY. Unless additional server (server 2+).

Note for Management Interns:
As a Management Intern, you shall be attending the training session with your mentor! If they’re not available, you may persist in attending with a CCO+.

After you’re done, DO NOT LEAVE YET. There the host will log you to the admin panel. If you need to leave mid-session, please inform the host, so they can log you.

Interview Session

In the interview session, you must join at xx:30. For hosts, they may join early.

If you joined, please spread STS in front of the chairs, and wait ‘till the host role you.

At the interview, Interview Assistant/Supervising Team+ can host or co-host.

The Managing Team can be the session promoter and Chief Relations Officer can be the session supervisor. The session supervisor can also be the session promoter.

ONLY UNLOCK THE SERVER AT XX:40 AND LOCK AT XX:00, NO EARLY. Unless additional server (server 2+).

Handling disruptive customers vs handling disruptive staff member

Nocturnal Café moderating guide for baristas and admins

For disruptive staff, give them a reminder. If they aren’t stopping, contact an Assistant Manager+ to demote them.

If they are trolling, demote.
If bypassing, suspend.
If they have 2 demotions, suspend.
If major offence, suspend. Offences can be found here

Staff Punishments

If you do something in violation of our staff rules, you will be punished. These are the punishments:

Reminder - It’s not logged, or either not ruining your reputation. It just reminds you if you’re doing something wrong. Example: Using wrong admin commands, etc.

Strikes - It’s when you’re doing something really wrong, and it’ll lower your chance to be promoted.
Example: Not using grammar in front of LRs, minor admin abusing, etc.

Termination - This happens if you receive your third strikes. It will rank you back to Nocturnal Customer or Suspended if you do something really wrong.

Staff Intern blacklist - This happens if you’re doing a really major admin abuse and other major issues. You are not welcome in our community.

Strikes expiration: Strikes will only expire if you’re promoted, or appeal to Executive High Rank (CEO+). Keep in mind that the appeal will only be accepted if it’s deemed invalid.

NOTE: Leaving the group without an HR or Executives permission will result in a permanent staff member blacklist!

Keep in mind that the give command is no longer considered admin abuse.
Those blacklisted commands are NOT meant to be used and you’re not allowed to use them, even if you’re an executive (unless if it’s urgent and you need to use it). Using that will result in a strike or a permanent demotion!

You’re only allowed to use skipsong if the song isn’t playing (common bug) or if the song is copyrighted! Abusing this such as keep skipping even in not in such situation will result in a strike. Only developer and VP+ are only allowed to use it outside that situation.

For ban, you don’t have to add the reason as the system will ask you why did you ban them. However, you are allowed to add the ban reason.

MANAGEMENT INTERN
At least attend one training/interview session during your internship – with your mentor permission.
INTERVIEW ASSISTANT
At least interviewing/hosting 3 interview sessions per week.
STAFF TRAINER
At least training/hosting 3 training sessions per week.
SUPERVISING TEAM
At least training/interviewing/hosting 2 sessions and shifting for at least 60 minutes per week.
MANAGING TEAM
At least training/interviewing/hosting 2 sessions, promoting at 2 training/interview sessions, and shifting for at least 30 minutes per week.
COORDINATION TEAM
At least training/interviewing/hosting 1 sessions, promoting at 3 training/interview sessions, and shifting for at least 30 minutes per week.


HR

CHIEF MODERATION OFFICER
At least 30 minutes shift in-game.
CHIEF RELATIONS OFFICER
At least training/interviewing/hosting 1 session, promoting at 1 training/interview session, and shifting for at least 15 minutes per week, and complete your weekly department tasks.
CHIEF STAFF OFFICER
At least training/interviewing/hosting 1 session, promoting at 1 training/interview session, and shifting for at least 15 minutes per week, and complete your weekly department tasks.
CHIEF CORPORATE OFFICER
At least training/interviewing/hosting 1 session, promoting at 1 training/interview session, and shifting for at least 15 minutes per week, and complete your weekly department tasks., and complete your weekly department tasks and/or create a weekly department task.


EXECUTIVES

Executives are free from the cafe requirements. However, you are to complete your duty as an executive and make sure the cafe is running well. You MUST manage all staff members, make sure they are in the Trello, remove/add members on Trello, and all other stuff.


MANAGEMENT MENTORS

The rank of Chief Staff Officer+ can mentor Management Interns and Coordination Team in Staffing Department can assist them. If you were assigned as a Management Mentor, your requirements would be:
At least training/hosting 1 training sessions, Supervising the training session with your Intern at least once, and shifting for at least 20 minutes per week.

INACTIVITY:
If you can’t complete those requirements, you can request an inactivity notice in Hyra and request HRs to read it in the #staff-notices channel, and the maximum is 2 weeks. You’ll need to confirm to the Executive High Rank if more than 2 weeks.

How to suspend a user

Managing Team+ only!*
Go to Staff Member Suspensions Trello, then, in the "Ban List’’ list, make a new card. After that, use this format

Then you’ll need proof for all bans. After that, fill in the information inside the card. You’ll find it in the picture below. After that, put labels depending on the severity. Then, click save, and done. They are now being banned from joining the application centre and will be kicked from the interview centre.

How to unsuspend?

Only rank Chief Staff Officer+ are allowed to unsuspend. To unsuspend, just move their card to the unsuspension list.

Staff Endorsement

At the end of each month, there’ll be a select two MRs and one or two HR(s) who have been chosen to have been worthy of attaining this award depending on a variety of factors, to list a few generic ones: activity, hard-work, selflessness, their efforts etc; the list is limitless. We believe it’s only virtuous that these individuals are recognised for their dedication.

As well as a staff announcement praising the individuals, we’ll also grant the special VIP Pro role in the discord and in-game, and also a cool shining rank tag for free and permanent to show off your achievement to the public as well! Well, after all, you deserve it!

LRs’ Grammar Corrections

We’ll no longer be correcting these grammar mistakes:

Commas:
e.g
Hello welcome to NC what do you want?
Hello welcome, to NC what do you want?
Commas before and after connectives, such as “and” and “because”.
Writing "Roblox” as “ROBLOX”.
Dunkin’ Donuts without the apostrophe.
Hardworking and hard-working.
Starting a sentence with a connective (e.g And).
Abbreviations (e.g OMG, OML, Ikr, lol)

No need to be so strict with grammar.

Important: If an LR, customers, or someone who have a lower rank than you, just say thank you or ignore them. Do NOT take any moderation actions against them. Failure to abide by this will result in a staff warning.
